My date did the intros and he asked be if I have kin working on the water front. Turns out my dad is his boss, I hope dad never found out but if he did he must have been cool about it. It started to get somewhat serious after a while but she chickened out. San Francisco still wasn't all that liberal about mixed race relationship back in the late 1950s. The following year I went into the military and never saw her again. I hope she had a good life.

Partly it’s because the typical physical characteristics (not including the supermodel types) don’t appeal to me, and largely it’s the current cultural differences and, I have to add, the attitudes I encounter. Pretty broad brush I know, but it’s experience based. When I was working, there were one or two I’d have considered dating, but the majority were entitled, disagreeable, and confrontational. OTOH black men were mostly pleasant and had good work ethics, nice to work with.

Never dated a black girl, but we have several friends that are drop dead gorgeous. They are from the Dominican Republic and a blast to be around. One of the biggest problems in dating or being married to a black woman in my opinion is their hair. It seems like the vast majority of them are always trying to straighten it to look more like non-negro/kinky hair and it takes them forever to get ready.

It costs about 300 to get it straightened and takes about 6 hours to do at the salon every 6 months. Ask me how I know, And her hair is not that kinky, to begin with.
