I might be looking for a good full grain leather wallet(bifold) in the near future for myself. What would be some good quality brands?
Randy Shuff makes a nice beavertail wallet
Bill (will) Stewart. on AR.

Wife gave me a Carhart leather billfold 6 years ago that wears like iron. Carry it it every day and it barely looks used.
get one with a full zipper
I second a wallet from Bill. I have a billfold wallet and passport wallet from him. Both are beautiful.
Saddleback Leather makes a good wallet with a 100 year warranty.
True to the fire…
Ill recommend something you didnt ask for…

I dont carry a bulky backpocket leather wallet. No need for a library card, 20 receipts from Sears, ticket stubb from Lynard Skynard concert..
Just an id, atm card, sams, costco and folded up benjamin..
Rogue Industries
My wife bought me one of their fine leather front pocket wallets several years ago,,, love it.
Big Skinny. Google it. Had one for years. Tough and thin
I’ve had very good luck with Thirteen 50 Leather. They are spendy but he just had a 50% off sale for Black Friday. Good quality & durable.
Wife got me a Columbia bi fold several years ago.
Figured it was junk, it's still doing fine.
I need a wallet to carry receipts, month old lottery ticket, stubs from fund raisers,
Cash, plastic rarely used, business cards, folded cash, a p-38......
I've used a Kenneth Cole Reaction series wallet for I think 20 years now. I do give it some shoe polish waxing now and again, but it's in excellent shape. For under $50 I think they're hard to beat. Many styles and colors. I use a bi-fold with an ID window.

Ditto
Elephant with great detail
Bought for gifts. Always get compliments years later
I just bought myself a nice Elephant hide wallet off ebay, looks nice.
I'll second Huntjinx post about a thin wallet. For too long I carried a wallet with the built in coin purse, two bill compartments, 8 credit card slots, a place for pictures and two key slots. Then I wondered why I was experiencing sciatica down my right leg? I picked up a little 3x4" Ralph Lauren card case and no more sciatic issues. 6 slots, 3 on each side for credit cards, insurance cards, drivers license, CCW permit and a center slot for folded over bills. Perfect. It fits so flat in a back pocket no one realizes that its there. On some occasions I'll carry a conventional wallet with some bait money in another pocket so I don't lose much if I'd get robbed. Was less trouble than reaching for the S&W in another pocket.
I need a new wallet and will check out some of the recommendations you boys have posted. Thanks for the info.

Bought a Duluth Bison leather tri-fold a while back.
Seems to be very good quality.

Make your own. That's what I do. Here's a bi fold, tri fild, and a couple of minimalist wallets.
For a number of years now I’ve been using a front pocket wallet from Filson. Credit/debit cards on one side, licenses etc on the other. In between the little bit of cash I need anymore, just for card games and cockfights (which, for me, are pretty rare any more.)
It’s worn smooth but stitching is still perfect and shows all signs of lasting at least as long as I will.
Yup! I've had one of his elephant hides wallet for 15 years or so and it's still in great shape.
That elephant hide is tougher than wang leather....
I've had a Will Stewert elephant hide wallet for about 15 years. I don't think my son will wear it out.
Probably 8 years on my Saddleback. It’s worn in, not worn.

Tried one, hated it
Went back to a saddleback bifold
wife got me a leather wallet from a craft show we went to a few months back ago. no name, just a local craftsman - but I'm happy with the quality
before this I had an Alpine Swiss leather wallet - pretty affordable and its lasted me at least 7 years now and still in good shape. I was just looking at the wallets and commented how much I liked the one at the show, so she snuck off and got me it for Xmas
they are like a kids baseball glove, you gotta break 'em in

Nice looking wallets and leather work.
Probably 8 years on my Saddleback. It’s worn in, not worn.
Mines 9-10 years old. It’s been ran through the washer a couple of times but doesn’t look to much worse for wear.

Thank you, sir. It keeps me out of trouble.

+3 on the elephant hide wallets from Will on AR. 10 years (?) on mine. Barely broken in. Would have gone thru at least 3 normal leather wallets by now. Gave an elephant hide credit card wallet to my USAF son ~ 8 years ago. It has been around the world. Just saw it a couple weeks ago when he was home on leave. Still looks almost new.
Another vote for Saddleback. Had one for years.
Or Odin Leather Goods.
I carry mine in my left front pocket, less chance of losing it, or being stolen.

Why did you cut your border like that?
For something a bit different.

I have a beaver tail wallet that will probably outlive me. This thing is incredibly tough and always gets mentioned when it comes out.

I dunno. I just liked the way it looked I guess.
Daughter gave me a Tecovas. I’m enjoying it.
Screw leather. I've been using one of these for 25 years. I've only tried the original, but they make several styles including some made of leather.
I can have 30+ bills of cash in mine along with more than a dozen CC's, ID cards etc. and it is still thinner and lighter than a leather wallet is when empty. They also flex to fit the curve of your butt when you sit. I get 5-7 years out of one.

Haven't carried a wallet in my back pocket since 1971.
It doesn't take much saddle time to move a wallet to a front pocket.
Can't imagine a pickpocket slipping a wallet out of a front pocket!
These days, with arthritic hands, I carry a "murse"!
A small back pack affair that slings over one shoulder.
I've been using a leather wallet from
Von Baer for about 2 years now, and it's been holding up well. The quality of the full grain leather is top-notch. Despite daily use and being stuffed with cards and cash, it still looks practically brand new.
I've been lucky to have a leather wallet last much past a year for my entire life...I got tired of spending $30-60 a year on wallets, and looked at getting a good leather wallet for $100+ or so. I finally made a duct tape wallet a year or so ago, and it finally wore out, so I made another recently. It takes ~20 mins and uses very little duct tape. I'd say though that gorilla tape is a bit too stiff to use, as it doesn't want to bend much, so I wouldn't use it next time. Anyways, I'm happy to spend 20 mins and $2 of tape to make a wallet that will last as long as the wallets that cost lots more.
I did almost buy one of those nylon or firehose wallets, but I tried the duct tape avenue first, and I'm satisfied.

I think I got it at ShopKo.
My credit cards keep splitting and I attribute it to the leather wallets I use and carry in my rear pocket. Every leather wallet I have had has broken credit cards.
I am thinking to going to one of those metal/carbon fiber type holders but I don't know what I will do with all the miscellaneous things like fishing license, health insurance cards (3), concealed carry permit, drivers license, bank ID, all in addition to three or 4 credit/debit cards plus a little cash.

Got one of his Elephant leather wallets and belts . Indestructible !
Can't wear out a beaver....
I beg to differ.
+1 for Hanks Belts wallet. I have the bison hide. Not cheap, but darn good.
I bought a new Elephant hide wallet from Bill. I had to cut down all my cards to get them to fit . Well made , except for the cards not fitting. However, When I contacted Bill about the issue ....he would not respond.
