Its been quiet around the campfire. I am just wondering if most of the major posters post during the regular year and spend the Holidays with their loved ones(I approve this heartily) or if it just went by and there was much gnashing of teeth and hurt feelers. Not that funny. A few years ago my neighbor (home, not the lake place) had a pretty bad fire. Started with a cedar built in thing for a few Big Green Eggs he smoked with.


They weren't waking up, and I couldn't stop the fire with a garden hose before it got into the soffit.



Didn't look bad the next day. Vehicles in the garage were melted. Boat outside the garage toasted. Basically a total loss inside due to smoke damage and water damage.

I suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns, but we got them out.

I was wearing flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt. Wife woke me up from a dead sleep screaming. She'd stayed up later than usual and was sitting in "my" chair, where she never sits, and saw a weird flickering light reflecting off my shop windows. If any of those things change, I don't know if we'd have gotten them out. "Her" chair faces the other direction, and she might not have seen it until it was completely engulfed.

But, yes, I was probably glowing in the light. 😁

The best was the dad from my son's boy scout troop who's on the FD going "YOU'RE THE CRAZY NEIGHBOR?!?!?!" at the next scout meeting. Apparently I didn't follow FD PPE guidelines. 🤷

So what drama was tikkanut involved in? I musta been asleep that day, or maybe I was totally sober and missed it.
