Was browsing Prime and came across this documentary from several years ago. I had never heard of this disaster where 1,800+ people, mostly POWs returning home from the Civil War, were killed when the steamship Sultana exploded, burned, and sank. Well worth watching.

many died from the explosion and many more died because they were too weak or wounded to swim to shore. Truly a sad day.
