Had lunch a few years ago in a little diner outside of Oak Hill Wva . Same diner Hank was found dead in the back seat of his car by his driver en route to a show. Diner food wasn't memorable, beer and a couple hot dogs. Cool stop none the less.
I've been there a couple of times. Its on old US 19.
The Lilly Family reunion is real close by in Flat Top WVa, one of the largest held in the USA or in North America almost every year. When I've attended, I always take the trip down to Bluefield on old US 19, instead of using I 77. Nostalgia for the ways the old roads were, when I was born there in 1952.
I stop at that restaurant and get a bite to eat. Their is a real small bridge there also named the Hank Williams Memorial Bridge. Its just over a small creek, not much too it.
His body was taken to the Hospital in Beckley, where he was pronounced dead.
