A *#&@$* neighborhood cat got in my truck last night and sprayed the seats real good. I don't hate cats, but if I knew which one it was, he/she would die of acute lead poisoning. Luckily I had pretty good seat covers on them, and took them off, but I still need to clean the cab good. There is still a slight smell left. I also would like to clean my seat covers, because they are expensive ones and work very well. Anybody ever had this happen? How did you deal with it? Any good products to use? Thanks
Place a newspaper on the passengers floorboard, and dump a pound of fresh ground coffee on it. Leave it in the sun with windows rolled up. Coffee will absorb nasty smells.
How did a cat get in your truck?
White cleaning vinegar works.
Any pet store should have a product that uses an enzyme to remove urine odors.

That’s what I wanna know?
Around here it’s cold enough to keep the windows closed and the doors shut!
If Kentucky is that warm, how about sending some heat a little northeast!😀

They make an ozonics deal that plugs into your cigarette lighter. Maybe that would help? Could be handy for hunting as well.
Spray with scent killer like the kind sold by wildlife research and see if it really works.

Therein lies the big question...
Does it work in underwear?
There is a product called Odo-Ban, sold at Sam's Club and other places. Works real good on such.
The cab of my truck used to smell like poozy occasionally, but I knew exactly how the skank got in there- - - -usually getting a "ride home" from the local beer joint!
An ozone generator will kill the smells. They can be bought for under $100. Run an extension cord to it, let it run for half an hour. Leave the cab closed up for a couple of hours, then air it out very thoroughly. Problem solved.

Stupidity. I left the widow down too far, which I never do, but it only takes once.
How did you deal with it?
Caught a tomcat up on my tool box spraying the back window of my pickup one evening. He'd sprayed it several times before, but I couldn't resist with him teed up on the toolbox like he was.
The aftermath of a 55gr V-Max was harder to clean. But worth it.
Good luck getting the smell out.
You had a cat piss your underwear? Exactly what were you doing with that cat?
I had a nervous/frightened dog pee on my driver's seat a few years ago. I soaked the seat in pet urine killer and let it dry. Seemed to work, but then my sniffer is not all that good after years of being around bleach and other strong chemicals. But my wife, who has quite an imaginative smeller doesn't complain, so I'd recommend trying that. The ozone thing maybe for followup.

If I'd caught the little sneak, he'd be floating face down in the river about now.
My wife put a leaky can of gasoline in the rear passenger floorboard of my brand new Lexus (took me 60yrs to get to this point!) Had it detailed, still smell gasoline. I took a box of powdered Laundry Detergent and poured it directly on the carpet, rubbed it in and left it a few days. Vacuumed it out. Laundry fresh after that! Any really good smelling detergent will do.

You must need help, with no arms to roll up the windows..
I had a similar situation, ultimately solved it with Pine-Sol and windows slightly down in a hot Oklahoma summer.
I was visiting my cousin one day and one of his barn cats got into my truck and hid in the back seat. The next morning, I was on my way to work and that mf'er came leaping over the seat and landed right next to my leg.
I about had a cardiac arrest at 70 mph!
Good thing it decided not to piss in the truck but pert near killed me anyway.
Chlorine dioxide.
(IE: SAFRAX, Biocide, etc)
....end of thread.
Thanks for the info everybody.
I’d use something like nature’s miracle and an ozone generator. I had let a suburban sit for over a year before I fixed the mechanical issue and during that time it got a musty odor. I wiped everything down good with lukewarm water and bleach but it didn’t totally get rid of the smell especially when I cranked the heat. I borrowed an ozone generator from my brother and ran it for a few hours with the windows up. I then aired it out and ran the OG for an hour with the heat blasting and left the windows up so the inside would get “bathed” in the ozone.
It eliminated 100% of all the musty smells. I had our son smell it after and he said he thought it smelled like a new car. Ozone generators work awesome!

Odor ban you can get it at Sams or other places.
Just mix it with water and spray, might take several times but it does work.
Had 2 toms go at it in the 63 chevy i forgot to roll up the windows on.
Man it was bad.
Took about a week but it smelt like old chevy when done and we always keep a gallon around just in case.

Hehehe. Good Fire story.
Today I soaked the seat covers in detergent and used a stick to stir them around in the washing machine. I didn't want to use the agitator due to the foam in the covers. I am using the washer to spin dry them between soaking. After two soaks and rinses, I soaked them in 30% vinegar that's supposed to kill odors in clothing among other uses. This stuff is potent. I'll do an update when they dry tomorrow.
Well it looks as though the 30% vinegar did the job. after I rinsed them out, the vinegar smell was gone. The real test will be when the cab of the truck is shut up for a while. I think it will be back to normal. Just thought I'd update in case anybody has the same thing happen to them.
A simple rabbit box trap will catch problem cats. No Idea how to eliminate the.smell.
For the annoying odors that linger around i have had good luck with dryer sheets, get a box of 25, 40 or however many is in the small box. Take out of the box and put under the seats, does a great job of absorbing the odor.
^^^^^^ Also good for keeping rodents away ! ^^^^^^

You probably had to change your shorts and clean the driver’s seat after that! 😂
Ozium spray, baking soda fridge box under the seat and febreeze as needed, after you wash it out as best you can
Heck, just sprinkle some dry Baking Soda all around inside the vehicle and shut it up tight for a day. Vaccuum the next day.
