Sad what has happened to this once great magazine.
Sign of the times?

Puzzling as well as disgusting.

I can't boycott them. Haven't picked one up or read an online article in decades.
Agreed! I kept a subscription going for at least 30 years. Quit renewals about ten years ago. Just like all media they went liberal about 10-15 years ago. Such a shame.
No doubt your first time and subsequent 100s times cranking off in your closet was to some saggy titted pygmy negro with a disc in her lip.

Bet that closet looked like a planetarium under a black light.

I guess that wasn't such a good hiding spot.
Had no idea National Geographic was still a thing.
every once in awhile you'd see some female african titties that were perky and didn't hang down like an old mans nutsack

That was a big deal when I was like 10 years old

probably would have been with the pygmys but I don't remember them

I'm googling pygmys right now
I liked it in the '70s & '80s, but quit subscribing in the 90s after an obvious propaganda article trying to convince the readers that the black-tailed prairie dog should be on the endangered species list.

Kids growing up now will never have to resort to that. Sad. The internet ruins everything. Cranking to Nat Geo babes used to be a right of passage.
Disgusting!

Yes, my high school library had every edition of it from the first to the whatever the current one was, although you had to get special permission to look through the old ones. It was a great periodical to browse through.
I can honestly say none of the African women pictures ever got me revved up. There was, however, a cover picture of a cute, smiley western pacific girl that got me going. My father commented on how that issue appeared to have been read many times.....
Garbage
Might see some impact on renewal numbers in the coming year. Sort of like a familiar light beer.
They gone woke fuqkem
They have fallen a long way from that afghan girl's photo on the cover.... But what do you expect. I doubt most city kids even know what geography is given what teachers are pushing....
Nat Geo is owned by Disney. Why they continue to promote deviancy is beyond me. Used to be wonderful family entertainment, now it's trannies pedophiles and homo's. Sad
Greyghost will like that Patti Ghonorrea.
We had a subscription forever and I guess 10-15 years ago we discontinued it when practically every article had a “global warming” slant…😡
Dumped it 20 years ago. I subscribed since the 60's. Sad how it went global warming woke.
Sucks
Apparently their subscriber base has changed substantially. Grooming kids is now their thing.

Our friends who don't celebrate Christmas took it over.
Watch the first 5 minutes, or-
Ruth Paine a proven CIA agent and direct descendant of Thomas Paine. She was deeply involved in setting up Lee Harvey Oswald as the patsy for the JFK assassination . She went on numerous National Geographic 'projects' around the world.
NatGeo has been a CIA spy operation since its inception. A lot of 'real stuff' has to be produced in order to gain the trust of foreign governments- then the covert operations can begin.

Same answer.
Gross. Only thing missing is a set of goat horns sticking out of his forehead.
WTF is a “Trans indigenous artist”?

Jeezus save me!!
Chit no longer good enough to grace the reading pile in the chitter.
I used to have a collection of NatGeo magazines dating back to 1910, IIRC, given to me by my grandmother. THE most interesting to me were those printed during WWI. One with a full section with pics and directions on growing Victory Gardens. Pretty cool stuff. Stolen some time during my endless moves as a young man.

Nobody grows breasts like Africans.
Honestly, now that there's free porn on the internet, who needs those glossy photos of native titties?
Nat Geo really went to hell with that ado about Jesse Jackson’s grandmother posing topless .
By the time I first read it as a kid, it was solidly known as an old (1800s) and well-established geographic/scientific magazine which tried to deliver its content and messages with great photography. One solid family, the Grosvenors, was prominent in the leadership during all of the 50 or so years I read it.

As with so many fine establishments serving excellent purposes, the succeeding generations of leadership/ownership diluted and polluted the fundamental purposes. Just more of the same stuff we are seeing so regularly.
Gave up on National Geographic years ago. I kept a subscription to Smithsonian magazine for another year or two until they started doing social justice propaganda every issue.

Symptoms of a decaying society. Academia and the scientific community are politically weaponized.
Would be interesting to see a timeline with who owned/controlled it beside a graph of content.

Jews/papist/Mormon for the win. I read the mags as a kid, and a lot of their books. There is no such thing anymore as detached scholarly work.

scumload: Not only are you ignorant and useless you are a pervert!
A recent P/M to me, concerning you, described YOU as "more irritating than a booger that won't flick"!
I laughed a long time over that one, and am pleased to pass along that very relevant (disgusting!) description of YOU!
He-he.

Auk1124: My thoughts and my actions exactly!
I think it was nearly 20 years ago I cancelled them myself.
Sad in a way. I learned a lot about the world from them.

One of my high school class rooms had the stacks from day 1 and I almost bought a complete set back in the mid 70's for about $150. I was a reader up until about 10 years back. They went from lengthy features with some depth to 1 or two page snapshots and I lost interest. I think one can acquire a complete set on DVD's for reasonable price.

Now in retirement, I'm searching the world for mid 1700's to about the 1920's books on exploration and discovery. Back then it took literally months to get to ones jump off points. Need to get another bookcase this year.

When I buy the farm, the kid will likely route those volumes to the dump.

Good example of a very frontal smackdown in response to a sleazy smear.
