He has a fight this summer with Jake Paul, an upcoming young guy with some good potential at 9-1. Tyson's very good and he's very dangerous, but at 58? It's been 4 years since his last fight. Paul's only 27. I don't know how many rounds it's set for.

TYSON
Paul doesn't fare so well against boxers.
What's his payday gonna be?

Years ago, when I was younger and even dumber than I is now, I told friends that I'd fight Ali for a million with my hands tied behind my back. Try my best to stay out of range, and when I got hit.....................why hell, I've had my bell rung for a lot less.

Million dollars was a lot of money back then.
Just a side attraction to make $$$.

Sad really, to see one of the greatest boxers to ever live, broke.

Tyson is alot slower, not as mean, but I bet he still has big time power. Love that guy!
Paul has a much longer reach, solid jab, good right hand, and a big mouth.....Tyson will have a short night, will wake up and think he's in Japan again. Paul isn't a real boxer, he just pretends to be, he's a social media boytoy that shows off all his women and fancy cars.

A lot slower is still lightening fast to us mortals.
Tyson is still a viscous animal in the ring 58 years young or not.

I’m happy for Mike and hope he beats the snot out
of Jake Paul.
Tyson has spent the last decade stoned. It’s not just age that will slow his reflexes. At damn near 60 going against a kid less than half his age who has speed, reach, and young muscles, I do t think it ends well. Unless he connects with one of those thunderous rights, I don’t think he wins. Stay retired champ and enjoy your MaryJane.
I don't think he's broke. He has a thriving weed business. At least I think it's thriving. This will get a ton of views. Seems like anything Mike does attracts attention. I grew up watching him fight. Go Tyson!
Tyson fought a bum 50 year old man 20 years ago, lost by TKO..... I wouldn't expect him to have gotten better lol

He has plenty of money, and his wife is very successful.....stay retired and keep what little brain cells you have left Champ.
Regardless of how it goes it will be a big payday for both.

Possibly the greatest against the young kid. If the kid wants to win he better pack a lunch and wear his best dancing shoes.
Streaming on Netflix does this mean any of us can watch it then? When I was younger I boxed and the son of the gym owner was up at Cus Damatos place in 84 or 85 when Tyson was near g the time when he turned pro and told me once Tyson was a truly terrifying boxer. I fully believed him too.

It will stream via pay per view.

EDIT: It will be free to all subscribers, the first Netflix sporting event
This is the result of being hit in the head too many times. DUMB, even for a groid.
I'd like to see Jake Paul in the ring with Francis Ngannou.

It’s lose-lose for the young guy….. if he wins = he beat up an old hasbeen….. if he loses = he got beat up by an old hasbeen.

Yep, it's all about the money and the on-line betting services.

Young guy's a douche of the highest order. He can not "win" in most eyes.

TYSON
His problem will be his wind. Folks that age run out of gas fast. He will need to go for a knockout very early.
One of the reasons why Tyson won so often is that his opponents were PETRIFIED of him even before the fight started. And they had every reason to be lol

Not a good way to go into a fight.
If it's more than 6 or 8 rounds, Paul only needs to play defense and let Tyson wear himself out. At his age, he won't make any fast recoveries between rounds. That's how Ali used to do it, with his rope-a-dope. He'd let them punch themselves out then move in for the kill. And kill he did. I don't think I'd play rope-a-dope with Tyson, though. He hits too hard. Just stay out of the way and don't get hit.

Damn, I think my wife cancelled Netflix last month until new episodes of the shows she like come back.

I think Tyson might hurt the kid.

Tyson has his issues and age but I doubt there's anyone on the planet with his boxing knowledge, willing to get in the ring. Saw him talk a LONG time about the sport, the science and the history of not only boxing but warriors/combat. It was deep, thoughtful and intelligent.

He will likely show Paul things Paul's never seen, especially seen in a 57 year old dude. Not saying he'll win - just saying, of all the old guys to pick on, Paul chose the 1 guy that likely has the deepest mental rolodex of what it is to box.

You guys all think this will be a legit straight up fight?

I am making a WAG here and saying Mike is getting a serious payday to either let Paul win or go easy and take it to a decision.

Don't trust the Pauls one bit. And I don't think Tyson is above making a deal

No, it will be a straight up brawl,,,,,if you'd have watched the Paul/Fury fight you'd know the kid has heart, and fights to the end. He lost that fight, to a legit undefeated rising star in the sport.

I do think Tyson had an agreement with Roy Jones when they fought, not to break any ribs or hit Roy too hard lol....both legends though, that was in 2020
Absolutely a Dog and Pony show....100%

Wait for the rules to come out........

All about the Benjamins.....Good for them, get what they can !!

CRAZY STUFF ! I'm 80, @ 58 I must have been as quick as a SNAKE !! Hell, I'm pretty sure i was !

Ear biting will be allowed !

I wouldn’t get in the ring with Tyson if he was 90 years old.

And at 58, he ain’t old enough to have lost much power.
I'll be watching for sure!

I figure 2 rounds, if Jake stays away and does not get overly cocky, initially.
I hope he doesn't incur dain bramage.
No respect for some bozo who’s got a Che Guevara & Mao Zedong tattoos. Maybe he’ll get his ass whipped.
A sshole is broke....f ucked off his $$$$$$ so he's got this scam going to get more! Rocky Marciano would have knocked his ass out in the first round!!

The guy obviously has skills, but I don’t think they’re “pro level”.

Then, Tyson doesn’t any more either.

Would be surprised if Tyson gets inside and sleeps him. But then Tyson’s biggest asset was always speed and movement. He ain’t what he used to be.

He fought Andre August who was 10-1-1 and beat him Rnd 1 KO, he beat Ryan Bourland who was 17-2 this year.

He can fight - beat Woodley 2x in MMA, Silva and Nate Diaz too.

Just looked up Bourland. The guy was a can.

Paul can obviously box, I just don’t think he’s that good. He’s a sideshow.

I don't see Paul developing enough power to scare Mike. I'd say Mike, even at 60% of what he was is probably above JP for power right now.

Find a boomer with a firing brain cell to explain to you the difference between a slugger and a boxer.

I didn't see that in the contract, but headgear and 18oz. gloves will be used.....it's an exhibition not a fight.

And it's free to watch on Netflix.

I've been trying to find out how many rounds it's scheduled for. While I've failed to find that, I've picked up a couple other things.

Netflix is steaming it to all of their subscribers, no extra cost.
It's supposed to be a real sanctioned fight, not an exhibition like Tyson's last one.
The rumors of 18oz gloves and headgear are false. They'll use standard 10 oz gloves and be bareheaded.
That guy fighting him must be a little worried.

I might get Netflix again (for a month) just to watch it.
Paul is 13 stones, six pounds. What's that work out to in English?

188 lbs.

Arguably Evander Holyfield beat him twice when both were in their prime.
I think it depends on how he’s trained and his mindset.

And I don’t know how he has been training. But he could have the endurance. Look at ultramarathoners…….many in their 50s-60s

Leon Spinks went in to win the title with a “it’s a good day to die” mindset.

Carmen Basillio was walking down the street in NYC as welterweight champ and sees Middleweight champ Sugar Ray walking towards him with his entourage.

Carmen put his hand out “champ to champ”.

Robinson snubbed him and his wife Josephine……. Carmen was a family man.

Carmen said to his wife” Honey. That was wrong. I’m gonna go up a weightclass and beat his ass”
Had that mindset.

Do you remember the Spinks fight? I think he was looking for the soft spot to land when he crawled thru the ropes.

Tyson was an amazing fighter in his prime. Not the greatest boxer, but arguably the greatest fighter.

I have my doubts about how serious this fight will be

that said, while Joe Rogan believes Tyson will hold his own, Dana White has some concerns.

Dana is saying he wouldn't want Mike to do it, but its none of his business

D'Amato dying early in Tyson's career was the worst thing to happen to him. D'Amato said that women were going to be Tyson's downfall, he was right. Between Robin Givens and Desiree Washington, he didn't have a chance.
