My 13 year old, old man dog has transitional cell carcinoma in his bladder. Just found out today. The proper course of treatment would normally be chemo, but not at his age.

He's been placed on 10mg of Piroxicam, 20mg of Omeprazole, and Simplicef (don't remember the dosage offhand, it's written down) daily.

The tumor, which is apparently fairly large, will eventually cause full urethral obstruction.

He has trouble peeing outside on Thursday, which was the first onset of symptoms, and he was peeing blood. Prognosis obviously isn't all that great.

Currently, his happy old azz is wearing a diaper, running around the house like a goober. You'd never think he had all this stuff going on.
Damn, Sorry to hear BigBoots.

Just enjoy what time you have left and cook him a steak.
Sorry to hear
Thanks guys. I've got some frozen fillets thawing right now.
Sorry to hear. Its tough. Let him keep his dignity. You will know.
That's sucks. Hope meds alleviate his discomfort and keep him going for a bit longer
oh [bleep]. thats too bad.

Hope he has at least a year left of a pain free life
Sorry to hear about this, we are dealing with something similar with my sons GF dog but she won't put him down. Please don't wait to long.
It's a hard life, harder with dogs that die too soon. Enjoy what time you have.
What Ram said. Don't let him hurt.

Doc said 6-12 months, I'm thinking probably half.
