Not talking bout that MCT oil buttered coffee crap drink.
Just good ol high fat butter in your morning cuppa.
Yes or No?
I toss in a pat of Paddy Yellow instead of milk/cream.
A wee dram on the weekends as well.
It seemed like that was a fad that some motivational speaker was pushing awhile back. I can't remember his name right now.
Never heard of that one. Doesn't sound good to me.
I'll just take it strong and black.

I'm going to try it tomorrow.
A wee dram? you talkin all grey-poupon high faluut'N again
Are you on a Keto diet? I know it's popular there, because of the high fat requirements. I like heavy cream.
I'm going to try it tomorrow.

ok
My wife is heavy into the low carb-keto thing, but she loves half & half in her coffee, but lost of calories. She switched over to a tiny bit of butter and whilst not the same, she says she can live with it
Again it's not that MCT oil buttered coffee drink stuff.
No not on a Keto diet not that I couldn't use to lose a few pounds.
First time I seen someone put butter in coffee was my both sets of Grandfathers back in the 70's at the breakfast table. Paternal Grandfather loved it in his coffee with his morning smoke. He also showed me to put butter on hot toast then peanut butter. Grandmothers put regular heavycream and condensed milk.
Heavy cream and maple sugar for me. Lots of maple sugar!

Oh yeah that too.
Seen molasses used as well.
I've heard of it, but never tried it. Salted or unsalted?

Either one but if using unsalted use a good highfat lavor like Kerrygold.
I like the extra salt in mine.
I've tried it when I don't have half and half, I prefer a bit of fat, easier on the stomach lining, it's fine. A little fat 1st AM gives you a bit of fuel to start the day.
Every morning. Not just a little pat sized chunk but a double or triple sized pat.
Just like the taste.
Salted Kirkland butter.

Yeah this is a real convo not just a wee polling.
I saw butter in coffee and tea in Vietnam. Wondered about it...kinda maybe thought it was something left over from the days when refrigeration was scarce, and milk didn't keep...whereas butter if kept cool might last a long time. ???
If I wanted fat, I'd just have a slice of bacon or some nuts with my coffee. I've not tried the butter thing, but I don't generally like anything in my coffee.
One thing I've started doing is having mixed 40/60 regular and decaf in the morning so I can drink a bit more coffee without too much of a jolt. Then I'll have a "real" cup of coffee later in the morning and it staves off my desire to eat lunch too early. Caffeine is generally minimized afterwards.
I like my coffee like I like my women. Hot and black.

1 pat of butter (1"x1"x1/3") averages 36 calories.
2 tsbp of half & half averages 40 calories.
1 tsbp of heavy cream is 50 calories.
I'd stick with what she likes, I can cut 4-14 calories per cup elsewhere. If you like butter in your coffee use it, but if you don't cut the calories elsewhere.

I usually use fresh fennel instead

With a good low acid dark roast coffee, no buffering is needed.

My wife reminded me...I have a little butter in my coffee or tea every morning...got in the heroin habit of buying that damned Kerry Gold Irish butter and sousing toasted sourdough bread...then dipping it in the mug. Disgusting looking...looks like the Exxon Valdez oil slick in a mug.

Well, you would know.
You was there when they invented butter.

Well f...k me Jim..Thanks...I never thought you would recognize my contributions to the world we live in. Actually, I'm older than that..I had some input on the design of the cow, Although my design was rejected...I wanted the tits much further forward from the anus.
That would have been a major improvement!
I’ve tried butter…didn’t see the need to do it twice. I use heavy cream daily and occasionally a little coconut oil if I’m going to skip lunch.
Keeps me looking hot in my jeans.
I like my coffee like I like my women. Hot and black.
And bitter.
NO
But butter on my Bob's Red Mill Organic steel cut oats, along with some grass fed whole milk, cream on top, non-homogenized yogurt and some of Dannyl's maple surple and a bit of cinammum is reeeeel goood. Oh yeah, I forgot about the raisins and craisins in there too.
Butter in coffeey is just.....................weird.

Be a real man, like me & use cilantro !!
Just give me a cup of melted butter to drink. I don't care for coffee.
Oh yeah Fats.
Used to do it a lot.
Some guy made an entire industry off it, called it bulletproof coffee. He lost like 100 lbs or something using that and intermittent fasting.

Not as a rule. I have put a little chunk of real butter in black coffee. It’s not bad.

I like my coffee like I like my women. Hot and black.
I was going to say reasonably priced and from a 3rd world country but whatever.
I have on occasion. But I like butter.
Nothing goes in my coffee.
Would be a waste of good butter
Black and hot occaisionally a 1/2 shot of blackberry brandy. Butter goes on toast. Mb

The Smithsonian claims I am the last living white child born to the Vikings at the Vinland (l'anse aux meadows) settlement. It may or may not be true...Customs and Border Protection has been hassling me about paperwork re my entry into the US. As usual the lovable but comically inept Canuckians claim to have no records from 1006 AD.
In typical boomer tradition, I have applied for Norwegian, Canuckian retirement benefits, in addition to my lavish SS payments. (Poor Jim Conrad is going nuts over this) If I get the Norwegian Folketrygden, I will be rolling in clover by God.
Why in the F would you put butter in your coffee? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard!!!
Correct natural fats cause diabetes and cancer
The same guys that hate fats will put fake milk high fructose coffee creamer in their coffee for health reasons. lol
No but make it hot cider with a double tit tot of rum and I am game!
No but make it hot cider with a tit if rum and I am game!
Can we say "Tit" on here?

Trying it now --> it's good, although I'd like butter on a hamburger- butter in a cold beer .
Not crazy about it, nor coconut oil, but like one guy said, coffee is easier on my gut with some fat in it. I used to drink it black, lots of it, which is part of the reason I’ll be taking omeprazole for the rest of my life…..
Was drinking it with heavy cream for a while, but that stuff is really spendy now. During The Plague, it was hard to get any real dairy creamer product reliably. Currently, we’re using half and half.

It's called "bulletproof coffee". It's purpose is to prevent blood sugar spikes if you put sugar or artificial sweeteners in your coffee.

The goon can't even make his own coffee, remember his post a while back where he was waiting for his wife to get up and make it for him, I thought that was quit pathetic.
