Let's see your set up.

Nice work! Did you consider a 300 series stainless top?
Posted By: hillestadj Re: BBQ's - 04/04/24
Nice solution.

I've got a Primo XL with their cart, a Weber Summit charcoal on their tripod wheelie fugger, and a griddle on the patio. Looks like hell out there if they aren't tucked away immediately after use.

Been meaning to do something but the list is never ending.

I think that’s my favorite color of decking now. I did a deck 20 years ago and the owner had me put metal track down and screw it up from the bottom showing no screws. I think the deck brand was Evergrain . It had more plastic in it than Trex. Smelled bad and would expand and contract too much for me.

I need to take good pics of my pit next time I use it….. I buried a 48” x 12” tall section of concrete pipe with a manhole cone on top that is about another 30” tall…. I build a big azz fire in it until I get about 6” of coals…… then I throw the meat in wrapped in foil….. put a metal lid on manhole and burry with another 6” or so of wet dirt and water until I don’t see any smoke escaping…… I’ll do briskets or turkeys….. I’ve done whole hogs…. We even did a steers head one time for tacos….. it makes the most tender juicy meat I’ve ever eaten but because it’s wrapped in foil you don’t get the smoke flavor like you do from a smoker or grill….. I need to experiment with a elevated rack or hanging the meat exposed but meat is expensive lol.

If you are talking steak or similar it’s grilled unless it’s been on there for 10 or 12 hours, then it can be Barbeque.

I hope nobody points out that my BBQ is supported by a table that doesn't have stainless steel screws I made myself....

Ok yu foos

straight outta the Merriam Webster book......well, website at least (See 3: my bold)

Quote
barbecue
2 of 2
noun
variants or less commonly barbeque

1a: a large animal (such as a steer) roasted whole or split over an open fire or a fire in a pit
b: barbecued food (eat barbecue)

2: a social gathering especially in the open air at which barbecued food is eaten

3: an often portable fireplace over which meat and fish are roasted

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/barbecue

If the Merriam Webster ain't right we all in a whole lotta trouble.

Chili contains beans. Chili con carne means you get meat with your beans….

On a less flammable note:

I’ve been searching for my unicorn glass 3wt, and think I found it. Tweren’t cheap, but the Steffens 8’ 3/4 wt is just delightful. No trout have been harmed as yet, but a fair amount of the local pond’s bluegill have some sore lips.
