When I was a teen, living in the islands, watched old timers building 3 masted schooners in washed up clear rum or whiskey bottles. Takes a steady hand and the patience of Jobe. The masts and sails are raised at one time with the last thread pull. All takes prior planning and mostly custom to scale work, staining, lettering, etc. Those old ship in a bottle builders had some serious skills, tried it a couple times, just never had the time as a young man, minor stuff like girls, got to taking up too much of my time. Ships in a bottle lost out to the warm water beaches and sun tanned young ladies.
