Our girls grew up listening to Tom Russell and Ian Tyson's Cowboy Real album, which introduced me to Tom Russell's other stuff.

weather is copacetic now, 70F today! And sunny, actually managed to get some lawn mowing done. It was well overgrown what with the moisture and warmer weather of spring.

I'll take it after a winter of not doing anything because of the shoulder surgery and winter weather.

And I will check out that Tom Russel one, I know I've heard some of his stuff before.

not sure if you listened to any of the Iranian, Armenian, or Algerian stuff there, but they have some interesting interpretations of music and many times way different time signatures (is that what 4/4 is?) than Western music. Wife was a belly dancer for years, taught it even, and I've listened to hours of that music and still love it.

Growing up near the border there is always a place in my heart for Norteno and other Mexican stuff too.
