I thinking about trading for one of these and know nothing about it other than what is said on there web site.Any of you had one that can tell me anything about it.It is 308 with a 1 in 12 twist,and is this not the same co that has Winchester now.

It's essentially a Winchester barreled action with a Hogue stock. CDNN was selling them or may still have some at $699. The nice ones are their PSR series which have McMillans and chromed barrels.

Winchester M70 action made in FN/Browning US plant. Certainly is the Winchester step brother.

I don't have one but they are supposed to be a pretty good rifle. One of the versions, either PBR or SPR, has had reports of some rifles having to go back to the plant to be rebarrelled due to accuracy issues.
CDNN's were Winchester New Haven receivers/rifles. FN is making new ones at the FN plant. In Carolina. Probably in the line where 375's were being built.

The PBR is a very good to great rifle outside it's stock.

I talked to FN about them last year. They are accurate and have no issues at all.

I think swaping out the stock for a Manners MCS-T would be a real nice set up.
With the Manners stock it would match any custom you could put together at less cost.

I own a FN SPR in 300 WSM and am very happy with it.

And the stocks are bad because of ..??
(I'm guessing the rubber over moulded stuff).

Are these the M-70's that our friend Lee24 designed, or was that only the ones in 375 H&H.

I have both and SPR and the PBR-XP. They are basically a trued WSSM Classic action with a 1913 rail. My PBR-XP has a 20" fluted barrel and the Hogue stock with the full length aluminum bedding block. I have both the DBM and floorplate for mine, I prefer the floorplate and the magazines are hard to find at times.

Both rifles are extremely accurate. The SPR has a chrome bore the PBR does not.

I am currently building a .260 on a PBR-XP action. I prefer them to the Rem 700's.

I have had a Hogue Pillar bedded stock on my M70 classic for at least 12 years now. It was a big improvement over the tupperware that came with it. It is not a McMillan and at the price that is being charged for the rifle you aint paying for one either.
