Schools seem to be scrambling to get a HC with a "spread offense" game plan. Now look at what Alabama just did, solid defense and a strong running game. It is has proven itself since the game existed and has always been a constant. It will survive as long as the game is played. Not the "run and shoot", not the "spread", not any of the gimmicky styles that rack up uber yards and 30+pts almost every game. There is no substitute and it is a thing of beauty. JMO.

I would agree that Florida had a bad day but I wouldn't sell Cincy short. They are pretty good and have a good coach (at least for now). If the coaching thing isn't a huge distraction and the Gators play the Bearcats IMO it will be an exciting game. Pretty tough to run away from a team that puts up the points Cincy does and Tony Pike is aweful accurate and Marty Gilyard is a pretty good football player. Florida has the edge for sure but college football is as unpredictable as the female gender. (almost)

Looks like all of us WVU fans will be in Jacksonville in January. Hope to make it down to Volusia County to Turkey hunt next spring too.

My son wants to go to A&M to be a physicist and an engineer. He got his mother's brains. I kept all of mine.

After A&M won five seasons in a row, LSU cancelled the series with a couple of years left. Last I heard, they never did honor the contract which required them to pay A&M a buyout.

So I guess I'd be more accurate saying that final field goal wouldn't have been missed if Cody hadn't blocked it and the two defenders behind him had missed it. And Cody blocked another FG before this one. These blocks were called plays. I believe I heard Saban refer to it as the "Max Block" formation. Good call, good atheletes, good execution. Isaac, I really think it boils down to the offensive line doing their job, and some other receivers stepping up to the plate. The Texas defense will do their job. They won't stop the Tide, but they will hinder them as well as anyone can expect.
