Thinking the Barnes Bullets acquisition by FAI has him all shook up.
CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need to resize it was taken with high megapix camera.
That Axis hide makes it look like you put up a disco ball just for the pic...
Cool beans though...
Ingwe
I don't know what that was all about....

What scope you putting on it? I told you that Brady's stock is ordered, yes?

Awesome, looks M70-ish CRF action... details?
6X42 Matte Loopy...
I still can't find my damned Talley LW rings...
Probably in that box at your dad's that had the other rings he didn't have.
I've handled it and it is very sweet.

I'll bet you did.
I refuse to take this any further.
I know better than to post any comment that could be or will taken out of context.
So it was a literal taste description or based solely on feel?
Cool disco rifle Bart. You will never loose it leaning it against a tree!
No you have inside knowledge! If you will bet that I think you know that you'll win.
Ask him about the 280AI search.
What color was it's handle?
Ask him about the 280AI search.
TFF!!
Serious??
I mean, I've scratched around for a knife by a gutpile before but a rifle? LMAO!!
I lost a Colt Lawman for a couple of days once.
Nice rifle Bart. Congrats.
Sweet looking rifle, only the bolt handle is on the WRONG side
Sweet looking rifle Bart..

It's an anti - theft measure commonly taken by folks down where he lives .
Hint : Ain't many left handed Mexicans .
Awesome, looks M70-ish CRF action... details?
It's a Montana short action in 350RemMag.
It's got a 1-10 twist Pac-Nor barrel and Redneck did the gunsmith work. The trigger is a crisp 2 pounds.
I gotta feeling that it will be renamed "Chuck Norris" cuz that fast twist and 200gr. Tsx's are gonna be badder than a mo-fo....
Ask him about the 280AI search.
I still think that was dirty pool... Ain't no way I left that gun and you were unaccounted for between the time it was alledgedly lost and when it was found...
When I seen the first pic in the thread, I thought you were getting a headstart on the forthcoming holiday...
...
Nice rifle.
Nice rifle Bart. Paint job is great.
JM
Lookin' good Bart...Even if it is TN colors.
That'll knock the snot out of a lot of critters.
Ask him about the 280AI search.

Sounds like chicanery...

Nice looking rig Bart. Gotta love them 350's.
Nice rifle Bart. Paint job is great.
JM
It ain't a paint job... It's a McSwirly...
Everything is uglier in Texass?
J/K. Nice rifle. Dunno about running a 200 TSX though.

Several reasons, dunno how interested you actually are in conversing so I'll keep it short. You want short version or long?
BTW, did you do it on a short or WSM action? Kimber, right?

Looking to learn something tonight.. Why not the 200 TSX?

I was very specific on this rifle. Everything from the barrel length to the trigger pull. I had it twisted 1-10 for a reason.
I've killed more than a few critters with TSX's and I really get it. Fast twist,TSX's,and light for caliber bullets are a deadly trifecta...
Nope... It started when I saw what a bud's 264WinMag did with 120TSX's... Scott plugging that buck the year before last with the Bumblebee sealed the fast twist deal... Both rifles were twisted 1-8... DRT...
I typed a whole long post just now but [bleep] it, what's the point. Nothing wrong with a 200-TSX but you can do better, both terminally and in terms of flight ballistics. But whatever. PM me if you really care about what I think. I've messed with most of the .35 bullets.
Nice rifle. Hope she shoots for you.
I ran the numbers Jeff...

Forgot the smiley...but it was about the writing style, not the conclusion.

Man... I couldn't understand half of what Stick typed... I ask for a sticktionary more than a few times...
I think I know where Jeff is going, scary, I know, but based on what I think, he thinks, how far are you planning to launch that 200 grainer at animals?
R.

I Concur.
Jeff shoots a lot (maybe too much?) at 600 to 800 yards. Such shooting tweaks your thinking in favor of Super slick boolits like the accubond.
A 350 remmy pushing 200 grain TSX is a wicked death machine -- especially if it looks like a creamsicle.

Well... I ain't gonna put turrets on it.
Thats kinda what I was thinking, which is what you were thinking, when you were thinking about building the rifle! Nice rifle, Bart! Truly unique.

Not so much the brand as the weight. The 200 would be considered light for distance, but that was already thought of. BTW, I'm done doing all this thinking tonight.
R.
I like the whole set up Bart!
Should be a killin' machine.
It's gonna knock the CRAP put of deer. Very cool rifle and a great load, too. Never could get X's to shoot in my .358's, but I tried, and at one time a 200 X was gonna be my "one load"... Just wouldn't shoot...
I'm not thinking in seriously long range terms. But even a NP 225 gets you well past 400 yards with that rig; the 200 Barnes does not... just in terms of terminal velocity... and I dunno, the 3 different 200's I tried, move so much in the wind that it is... disturbing. At least compared to "normal" calibers. With the 225 NP, things behave more like you'd expect.
In terms of terminal performance I'll choose a softer bullet every time for deer. Just me. Hell the 200-gn Hornady will blow through them like you wouldn't believe!
So there ya go, my opinion such as it is. Worth ever' penny you paid <grin>.
Dude, did you get a pair of [bleep] pink gloves with it?
Thats is cool as hell.

Methinks Bart has HOGS on the agenda for this rig as well. It is Texas, ya know.
He's also thinkin' of bear for this dude IIRC...
This would be a great and handy little bear rifle..
In what way(s) would the 225-gn NP be inferior to the 200 TSX for bears & hogs?
I have never even shot a 35 cal rifle, but I think a 350RM or perhaps a 35 Whelen would be fun to play with.
Someday, perhaps.
BTW, Bart, nice rifle!
358 WSSM is cool too.
Tom,
A WSSM? Hmmm, How about a 358 WSM?
Even better, how about a 6.5 WSM?
Now yer talkin!!!
358 WSSM is cool too.
No it aint! Shut up bish!
That 350 will do bad doo doo to piggies too I bettcha!
Very nice. You did notice that they put the bolt handle and ejection port on the wrong side......right?
Mike
Very nice. You did notice that they put the bolt handle and ejection port on the wrong side......right?
Sez all you righties... Looks perfectly natural to me..
anybody got an OD green & black swirly?
Very nice rifle Bart! Even though the pic of it and the Axis hide hurts the hell out of my eyes!
All the talk about .358 WSM's in the last couple weeks gave me a woody to bore out my .325 BLR to .358 WSM... that'd be pretty cool.
I don't think it's real feasible though.
Tim- once you try .35's, there's no going back!
