I had to reach down and retrieve the skin out of some weeds at the edge of the garden.

The whole time I was thinking of why snakes shed their skin.... And the time when a black snake of similar size clamped down on the web between my thumb and forefinger.

I don't mind snakes................... If I get to see them first. It's the ones that surprise you that erase longevity!

Looks like a black snake; no problems there.
