or guns that you are after? We haven't done this for awhilst. What do you want that might be in reach in the near future? Or maybe not in reach.
I would like to get a Sharps. Original would be great, but prolly will be a Shiloh or C. Sharps. Prolly in 45-70 for the convenience factor.
10mm of some sort. Probably a Smith. Maybe a new Delta. Maybe a Witness. Dunno.
Garand...been on the lookout for one for a couple of years now and found nothing suitable.
Deep concealment. Maybe need a Baretta or some such. Maybe a Kel Tec.
What about y'all?
Just ONE next gun?
I have a 77 Sharps with a new barrel that is almost ready to go, a pistol-gripped Hawken that is just beginning the long road to becoming a reality, an Alex Henry long range muzzleloader that is 90% done, and a low-wall action that is the subject of preliminary creative planning.
i will be buying a Remington 700 with a carbon fiber barrel in .223.
then, a .500 S&W
A Browning SA-22 is on the way now. Gray SS barrel, nickel finished receiver to match, laminated stock, and octagon barrel.
Well, as soon as we can get moved into the new house here on the place, the old house (after some needed renovation) will become my mancave/workshop! I just need to finish the projects I've got in the works.
Stocking a nice old FN Herstal 1893 Mauser (7 x 57) that's was bubba-tized by some cretin. Hopefully it will look like a 1920's guild rifle when I'm done. With express sights, the works.
And
Replicating a 1920's BSA Sporter (leaning heavily on the looks of a Lee-Speed Rifle) built on another Bubba-tized rifle; #1 Mk III Smelly. This one hasn't really had anything bad done to the metal, and has an excellent bore (rebarrelled in 1922). Same as above; express sights, barrel band front swivel, etc. May finally get to try a little checkering on the forearm.
Kaywoodie
Just bought a ruger 77 MKII 30-06 SS with a laminated stock and Open sights.
Got three actions at Hart, 2 in 30 cal and one in 7mm.
I need another M66 smith too.
I'm still looking for a Model 41 S & W....
My last deer rifle. 'Hate to hang up the old 99, but she's getting heavier, and for some reason the hills seem to be gettng steeper lately too. Thinking it will be a Remington Model 7 in either .308 or 7mm-08, or possibly the same chambering in a Model 700 Mountain Rifle. 'Wouldn't pass up a Model 70 Featherweight or a T3 Lite if the price was right either though.
I am done with rifle buying for a while. I have been re-aquiring shotguns for clay shooting and on the hunt for a Winchester 101.
Doc
My next one?
Hell if I know...
Realistically, either a Vaquero or a Uberti 1873 in 45 Colt. Lots I would like to have, though.
Still looking for that just right Savage 1899 in the classic Sav. 303. Don't need it, just want it.
BP...
After seeing Ingwe's faux TI I've had a hankerin' for the same build but chambered in .260 Rem.
It all started years ago when dreaming about THE perfect sheep rifle. Sadly, I've now missed my chance for ever being able to do another sheep hunt
- that and actually having a chance at a legal one. Having a lightwieght all weather mulie/lope rig is still a good excuse for putting one togther though.
Custom Model 70 7x57.
A custom 7x57 reamer is on order from Pacific Tool and Gauge. Going to put a Brux #2 Standard Sporter 22" barrel on it. Have not made up my mind on the stock, but it will be synthetic.
A Ruger MKIII Talo Distributor special .22 pistol. Maybe a 7mm-08 if I can sell a couple of safe queens.
Found my next gun last week and am waiting to pick it up end of this week. Found a pre 64 model 70 in 243 featherweight. Except for someone adding a pad it looks almost new.
a 1911 for a carry pistol
Ordered it last month:
Six to eight months for delivery and measured to fit me. Verney-Carron in 450NE
3 1/4" Color Case Hardened receiver, traditional English scroll engraving, ejectors, flip up night and folding leaf express sights, sling swivel studs, 25" barrels, fitted leather case and regulated with Hornady DG ammo.
1911. probably a S&W with the alloy frame.
Might look at a 1929 99"G" in 250sav. this next week, than agin the way things are going, might be a Black rifle!
After seeing Ingwe's faux TI I've had a hankerin' for the same build but chambered in .260 Rem.
Fish: DO IT!!!
Been shooting it a bit and honestly enjoy it as much as any rifle in the safe, good handling, death ray, yada yada yada...
Poobah;
How's that 6.5x54MS build coming along?
None planned. I want to shoot the ones I have. The snow is finally melting here and I will get to the range this week and go hunting more. The new 32mm binoculars (Leu.7-12x 32) are really working well. Light weight and even good with glasses.
The new Minox and 7mm WSM need to be sorted out. I saw a Stevens Visible Loader in the safe that I can't recall ever shooting.
Maybe I will sell a gun. The market is so bad however.
Sean, its Monday morning, I havent adjusted to Daylight Savings time, and haven't had my coffee...
Don't do this to an Old Man....
Ruger # 3 in 30.40 Krag. Add a compact little Leupold and deer hunt with it the rest of my life.
Probably a single six and a mil spec type springfield 1911.
Sean, its Monday morning, I havent adjusted to Daylight Savings time, and haven't had my coffee...
Don't do this to an Old Man....
Do what?
That Hawkeye African in 6.5x54MS is one of the sweetest ideas I've heard, even if it did come from Scott.
Man, when you get that thing done.... Wow...
Probably a single six and a mil spec type springfield 1911.
I've got a Springfield right now and have probably owned a half dozen or close to it, over the years. They are fine. You should check out Remington's new 1911 though, if you're going milspec. They're made here.
What?
Rebore, QD rings, new Leupold 3x30, German #4 reticle, express sights regulated.... maybe just a bit of work to the stock for a hint more drop.... buffalo horn grip cap.... ebony forearm cap...
Red pad....
Delicious....
I've been on a .22 LR kick lately. It's for the grandkids, honey!
Currently got three on layaway. A S&W Model 41, and two Ruger 77/22's, a .22LR and a .22Mag. My next one may well be the S&W 15-22 Performance Center rifle. That looks to be one seriously fun machine, for the grandkids, of course!
Model 7 S/S in 7-08,
In about an hour......................
What?
Rebore, QD rings, new Leupold 3x30, German #4 reticle, express sights regulated.... maybe just a bit of work to the stock for a hint more drop.... buffalo horn grip cap.... ebony forearm cap...

Got enough in that stock for a slight cheekpiece? Just a LITTLE drop (euro-brit flair), and a cheekpiece.... shadowline, of course,
154 grain RNSPs, "smashing"....
Ruger #1 OR Highwall (undecided on make or caliber)
I'm putting you on ignore.
On the short list in no particuliar order
Kimber Montana in either 7-08 or .243
O/U either Browning Citori or Weatherby Orion
Weatherby MK5 Deluxe in .270 WBY
I'm putting you on ignore.
Promise?
It will only add to my Turdlike Legend...
Poopbah....

YOU?
Talk about being a bad influence....
Just picked it up Saturday. Dan Wesson Guardian 45ACP, an alloy bob-framed commander. Pardon the old .260 holes of ex-gf; using up old targets, but you get the idea.
Next gun, probably the canoe keep thinking on. Or a full gov't 1911 for practice/house.
I'm putting you on ignore.
You oughtsta know bedder den dat!! The other Turdlikes will then quote him and you will be FORCED to view his porn
Of all things, it's snowin' here today. Ground is covered.
I need a rifle in 257 Roberts. Been looking for an AIII Sako. Could also use a color-cased lever action of some sort in .45LC to go along with my new AWA Mod 73 Peace Maker. If the right .308 winny comes along I may get one of those as well, probably a Steyr. I really do feel flush with just about everything I want. May even sell a few to make room in the safe.
Haven't run across any lately that I have to have. I have been toying with the idea of getting another Shiloh 1874 Sharps probably in 45-90 if it goes that far. I have 3 45-70s (only one is a Sharps) and just have the itch to go a bit bigger.
The "heroin" at the top of the picture is mine
ET - Woody's already gettin n-n-n-n-nervous . . . and anxious
.
I have been buying and selling the last couple years and am pretty set for now. I forsee the next gun as either being a Cricket type for my little girl or a lightweight 223 or something along those lines for the kids. That is gonna be a while either way. Oldest turns 5 this summer and has not shown much intrest in what dad does. currently doing a little tweaking on other guns. Should get my McSwirly for my 338 in the next couple weeks, bed that in and do a trigger job and that will be done. Also have the wood stock removed from my 7RM that needs to be re-finished. I would replace the stock, but I already had it full length bedded and pillars installed, and I just like it.
17HMR, probably a CZ. Have no idea why.
It depends of if I decide to sell my Navy Arms Rolling Block.
I'm putting you on ignore.
You oughtsta know bedder den dat!! The other Turdlikes will then quote him and you will be FORCED to view his porn
Did somebody say porn?
It actually just happened (not ny design), as I stumbled onto a lightly used Tanfoglio (EAA) Witness Match, in .38 Super. I ran a couple-hundred rounds through it over the weekend, and I have to tell you, it's a sweetheart.
Dies, and bullets are on order, as is some Starline brass. To be honest, It's going to be a chore besting what the pistol did with Remington, PMC, and Mag Tech factory 130 grain loads. Once I got dialed in, one-inch groups (supported) at 25 yards were boringly routine, and I broke clay pigeons that were propped into the berms all the way back to 50 yards.
'Tis a shooter this one.
Maybe a AR or a Highwall, hows that for opposites.
Always looking.
Nothing on the radar now 'cept a varmint-caliber barrel
for the Encore.
Still got that 9.3x74 double rifle in the
back of my mind, but having a hard time convincing
myself to expend that much funds on "one" rifle
17HMR, probably a CZ. Have no idea why.
Because they're fun, and they shoot extremely well. I bought a 455 in November, and with the HMR pipe on it, it shoots very, VERY well...................
After seeing Ingwe's faux TI I've had a hankerin' for the same build but chambered in .260 Rem.
Fish: DO IT!!!
Been shooting it a bit and honestly enjoy it as much as any rifle in the safe, good handling, death ray, yada yada yada...
ya know, if you put a real scope on that thing you could probably tighten those groups up a bit.
Ruger LCP in a few hours, but it's for momma.
already picked her up a couple of Kahrs, one pm40 and one CW40
CW40 resides in her safe at work
the PM 40 she thought was a bit too heavy for her purse or pocket
thus the buying the .380 for her
dang woman is gonna break me
I truly don't know what is wrong with her. I've armed her adequately, you think she'd wise up and just shoot me and be done with it?
Freedom Arms. Wanting a 22lr and a 44special, 45 Colt, 44 mag, or 41 mag. Still saving but one of those is coming home this year.
I've wanted a Springfield Range Officer Model since seeing a couple of them. They seem very well done, at a fair price, too. I'm just too damned cheap to buy one right now.
I'm going to try twisting turrets, so I'm looking for a .243 with fast enough twist to shoot low-drag 105 gr bullets.
Rigby 275 on a 1909 Argentine action.
Got a hankering for a Browning Hipower.
Hope to trade into a 700 ADL .222 this coming weekend.
If Kimber actually makes an 84L Montana in a .280 AI, I'm thinking I really need one of those.
Thinking I need a 6.5-284 sometime, want to start working on my long range game.
Winchester 71 (original)
Sako Vixen .222
I'm sure there will be others that come before those few, but that's what's on my short list. One of these days I need to sample the AR thing also.
Thinking I want a bolt gun in 223. But my gun funds have dried up for a while with the featherweight that I ordered along with the VX3 CDS Ill probably get to put on it.
Jim....mine shoots that new-fangled "smokeless" powder!
Been thinking about a new M70 Fwt 7-08 to go along with my New Haven .243. The couple shops I've asked about it say their suppliers are out.
Might do the ingwe forend alteration, but probably leave it alone
One of these three:
- CZ75 D Compact PCR
- Ruger MKIII .22
- A .22 centerfire, .24 or .25 after I offload my .338 WM

I honestly have no idea. Thinking about one of the Ruger Flattop Bisley .44 Specials, or a Kimber .38 Super or Montana (7-08 or .270 WSM), or a Remington MR or 7 Predator, or a Beretta 20ga. auto, or maybe a Model 70 FWT.

Springfield Saginaw Steering Geer M1A1 Carbine.
I picked one up the other day and fell in love with the thing. It's sitting there with my name on it. All I have to do is get off my butt and go get it.

Been talkin to these guys on and off for months about what to get and all I can say is thanks Jim,Keith and Nick.you guys are the best!! Your wealth of knowledge and experience has saved me many headaches...
You got 16 mos before the headaches start, Woody. But they're good headaches - spawned by the smell of spent black powder on a misty morning and the roar of thunder in a stick
.
Kimber Montana. I'll wait till I hold a 84L and then decide.....25-06L or 7-08M.
VERY nice....maybe one day. Whataya think, $3000-$4000 for a rig like that ?
Minus the scope of course
I'm looking for a used 10mm G20 Glock, or a
Ruger .357M Service Six.
