I made some similar to these,..but that was many years ago...

Those aren't bad deerwhacker but I learned long ago to run a long log at rafter level between a larger building and a smaller building to help stabilize the smaller out building.

I used to work for Rocky Mtn Log Homes out of Denver. We cut our own logs with a crew, a D-4 and one used log truck. All our houses were round log and all were different. We had a Swedish kid that made his own framing chisels that spliced the purlins in place. It is difficult and dangerous work but highly rewarding.
