PHOENIX - Phoenix police say three people have been shot at an office complex. Their conditions are unknown and there is no suspect in custody.

Officer James Holmes says the victims were taken to hospitals. He didn't know if their injuries are life threatening.

Holmes says police so far believe there was only one shooter but don't know his whereabouts.

He says police were given conflicting information about the suspect leaving the scene.

James Holmes??? Really...nevermind

Same name. Different person. Probably.

Funny, very funny and perhaps true.
I smell a conspiracy theory brewing.
Does anybody know the shooting schedule for next week?

I got my tinfoil hat on.
This shooting in Phoenix is about 1/4 mile from my sister's house. Its a fairly wealthy part of town.

Local reports say now that police have surrounded a house a couple of miles north of the shootig site and are talking to "a person connected to the shooting" who is at that location.
The media is implying that it is the shooter, but the police are saying nothing other than the suspected shooter was not found at the office where the shooting took place.

For the foil hatters Ofc. Holmes has been a spokesperson for a number of years and is a personal acquaintance of mine(friend of a friend)
At least three people were shot at an office complex in Phoenix on Wednesday, police there say, and a manhunt for the shooter is under way.

The building was evacuated and the suspect fled the scene, Sgt. Tommy Thompson said. The shooting--which occurred in the building's lobby--does not appear to be random act, Thompson said, though he would not say if the suspect knew the victims. Witnesses say they heard as many as 10 gunshots fired.

Three victims were transferred to John C. Lincoln Hospital with gunshot wounds, he said. Their conditions were not immediately known, but according to Phoenix's NBC affiliate, one was in "extremely critical condition."

At least three other people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries related to the shooting.

A SWAT team began canvasing a neighborhood in search of the suspected shooter described by Thompson as an "older" white male, possibly in his 60s.

At this point we dont believe he is in the area, Thompson said. This doesnt appear to be a random type of incident.
Now the local media is saying that it occured in the law office Osborne Maledon and was possibly a mediation that went very bad.

A partner at Osborne Maledon is saying the critically injured person was a practice partner who was hit in the neck or jaw area coming out of a mediation meeting, and that he is out of surgery already and he is "going to be okay".

Phoenix P.D. SWAT has a house now surrounded and may be negotiating with the suspected shooter.
I'M NOT advocating tinfoil. I just thought it was humerous
I figured...

I was just putting it out there. Ofc. Holmes is a pretty well known and well liked guy around here. Some of my buddies work very closely with him every holiday season to put on a shopping trip charity for needy children known as Shop With A Cop.
The kids get to go a $500 spree with a Phoenix P.D. officer.

I'll be there, and can pretty much promise that it will end differently than planned. mad

All that should be negotiated is "Do you want us to just kill you right now, or would you like to apologize to the victims before we do it?"
Did he use an assault weapon, DID HE USE AN ASSAULT WEAPON?
That's a good one, Cold. Would save a lot of angst and money.
Doesn't this point out the need for armed self-securing persons even at law offices?

Obviously, the shooter got away without any return fire, and the cops obviously showed up way too late.
