Always remember and make sure your family and friends remember those who have given it all for us.

L.W.
I salute those that have fallen and those who never came home, you have my undying gratitude and respect! I salute all members of all of the Armed Forces, past and present, thank you for your contributions and sacrifices. America is a better country for your gifts!!

Our country has fought battles and lost, and the mortality was high, but not one person that went into those battles did so ignorant of the fact that America was, is and always will be, the Greatest Nation on Earth!!!
I shall not forget those that fought and died -fought and are disabled fought and are POW/MIA... .
I do NOT put all military in the same category as Soldiers and Marines ,living near military bases most of my life I can tell you MANY of them deserve nothing.

Amen!
May those who gave ALL Rest In Honored Peace and may their memory NEVER FADE from our collective national consciousness.
Psalm 91

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowlers snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, The Lord is my refuge,
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 Because he[b] loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.

The soldier stood and faced his God Which must always come to pass...
He hoped his shoes were shining Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you soldier, How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and Said,"No, Lord, I guess I ain't...
Because those of us who carry guns Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent, Because the streets are awfully tough.
But, I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep,
And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place Among the people here...
They never wanted me around Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was a silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod...
As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God,
"Step forward now you soldier,
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Dedicated To All That Serve... God Bless America!

Ok...now this pic made me tear up. I'll admit it.
That last picture is sad and telling.

Me and mine will NEVER forget the sacrifices made for the freedom we enjoy.
I will very selfishly ask that my oldest brother, Capt. William Andrew Kuhnke, be remembered on Monday. Army helicopter pilot, Bin Din province, December 1969. God bless our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines.

Kurt
That is not selfish and he will be remembered.

Thank you Capt. William Andrew Kuhnke, et. al.

Does it bother anyone else when people confuse Memorial Day with Veterans Day?

Yeah, it does me but for most as long as the sales are on and they get a day off from work why the hell should they care? mad

Memorial day is reserved for those who gave that "last full measure of devotion". God bless then all and hail their memory.

Kurt, I would be honored to remember your brother right along with my Dad, and the family and friends that I have lost to war.

-----------------------------------------------------

I know the difference -twice a year to celebrate fallen soldiers is OK by me --I'm sure everybody feels the same way.

What bothers me even more is that so many, many people today do not even know what either day is about.

L.W.
please explain to your little ones what Monday is all about....they might not hear it from anyone else...I am so blessed to live in a country where brave men are willing to die for my freedom....

I give Thanks, Honor, and Gratitude to all those who've done more for this country in their last living breath......Than the career politicians could ever do with all of theirs combined.....
