I have two sets of elk antlers from a couple years ago in the garage. Just the little bit of skull and the horns. Are any of the DIY home mounts any good?

Or whats a ballpark price for a pro to just mount a set of antlers to a piece of wood and cover the skull w/ leather etc to hang on the wall?

Thanks.

Get a woodworker buddy to cut you a plaque. Bolt the skull cap to the plaque and then remove them. Make up some paper mache (google it) and mound it up until it gives a pleasing shape and allow to dry completely. Go to a fabric store and buy a yard of velvet. Tuck and staple (to the backside) this over the paper mache, BUT BEFORE YOU DO THIS, insert the bolts, as the heads will be covered up by the velvet.

Here's how I did it. You don't have to fancy up the board as I did. A 16" old barn plank works nicely.
