You know what I mean, you serial shutterbugs: you're doing something, anything, and something catches your gaze, or fancy. You smirk, giggle, grin, shake your head or grit teeth and think to yourself, 'lemme' try to get a shot of this'. If you manage to, cool. If you don't, whatever. Got any to share? Anything goes. There is a 6 place table about 10' from the fireplace. Its takes 4' logs and is the sole source of heat for the cabin. The cabin was built in 1932 when the club was born.

I can hear the poker chips flipping, the bourbon flowing, the cigars glowing and the bullshit getting deeper by the second. Its a magical place for me.

Not at all! That is me during my first year up here in Alaska. They had some shorter bats but I found that the tee-ball bat worked the best. Normally I would try and wack them when they are still in the pen, saved my arms from trying to hold onto a thrashing fish.
Your stuff always fascinates me, Sam. I love the farm/agro shots, even if I corn-fess to not knowing a GD thing about it. Were I to guess, the big green machine (combine?)has cut some crops with the spinny blades on the front, and is loading some of...Wait, nope. Way too small of a bed on that truck. Ahem, the two lads in the P/U are *fixing* something that broke on the end of the big green machine's shooting spout tube deal. How'd I do? wink

I see, and OK. I thought you were swinging a full-sized aluminum bat. Seemed to me that's a lot more weight than necessary to be swinging all day on fish of that size, but what you say makes sense.
The big green machine(combine) turned too sharp and snagged a tree with the unloading auger. One of the teenage kids in the back of the pickup operates and does a damn good job. Honest mistake.

lol. OK, well that makes two of us, then. Given the chance, I'd give it a whirl, though! wink A friend of mine in Idaho has one (corn, mostly, I think) and had a mechanical problem that I want to say required that he and a couple friends remove an axle from his combine last season. Don't recall just how heavy he said it was, but apparently it was a *beast* of a job. This I know: you farm boys are TOUGH SOBs.

A couple more shots of the plane. We used it to transfer fish to a remote lake, about a million at a time.

Loading the plane with fry.
[Linked Image]

The pilot has a viewing window so he can monitor the health of the fish. He has an oxygen tank in his cabin and he can regulate how much oxygen the fry are getting, depending on how they look.
[Linked Image]

Here is a cool video of whales trying to eat our fish while they are in the saltwater pens. The bubbles you see are the "net" that they use to herd the fish together.
