Has anyone had any contact with HoundGirl(Jane) since Christmas of 2012. Anybody known if she is still in N. Dakota , if so she is getting a chance to really find out what cold weather is about. Cheers NC

If you're wondering how I could know anything about Jane as I just showed up the other day, let me identify myself as part of the majority here. The, "majority" here are those people who are, "watching" what is going on. If you glance at the, "who's on-line" you will typically see the, "guests" (not counting spiders) is about double the number of registered users that are present in any given moment. I have recently crossed over from "guest" status. I hadn't planned to but the PVC thread was the catalyst. I was sitting at my computer, "watching," experiencing PVC's while I was watching (the PVC thread) and I thought, what the heck?

But sure, I remember Houndgirls posts, and Bricktops and lots of members who are gone.

So... I'm in the fishbowl now. I think sitting in the fishbowl, it's like the bowl is illuminated and placed in a dark room. It's easy to not realize there are THOUSANDS of eyes pressed up against it looking in. People you don't know at all. For me, I notice if I post something and 5, 10, 20 people respond or add to the thread, it feels like about that many people looked at. But I know that is very far from the reality.

I do. I started reading the fire when Jane had about a thousand posts and was always asking about rifles and hunting. It intrigued me to read the posts of a woman online that was so interested in the outdoors and basically trying to go it on her own albeit with a little help.

I hope it is apparent I do not intend to be a troll here. I am here because I have similar interests and views to most here. Politically, I vote, "anti-liberal." People around here can be very helpful. There is also a wealth of experience and knowledge available here.

I prefer to be part of the group (which is the majority here) that treats each other with civility. I'm not a fan of personal attacks.

In my early days here at the 'Fire, I was trying to get up to speed in guns, ammo, and other things besides the "Hunter's Campfire", but once I was semi caught up, I remember Houndgirl was getting advice on reloading and hunting. It was nice. I miss her.

I remember when she and Ned had a fire at their house, when she was out running and there were some missing people in her area, and I remember when they packed up to move. I remember when she checked back in briefly after their trip with the promise of returning, but sadly it hasn't happened. Or maybe she did once over a year ago, but that was too long ago.

I remember a time (not long ago really) when every new member was suspected of being Larry Root - and they usually were.

Has not been on here for many months and can run a thread to eight pages without a comment. Wherever shes at I hope she and her sister made amends. GW

I just looked it up. I kind of blended several things together. He sometimes watched her while running with her dog(s). As the thread developed, we learned that at least 3 women were missing in her area.

There are others I'd like to see back here again as well, but I leave them alone. They are gone by choice.

I remember the night we had the Campfire get-together in Olympia and HoundGirl and Ned showed up late after picking up the keys to their first home in the Olympia. Yep she is and was a real class act, and on that night they both were on cloud nine.

I remember that nigh well. They were the happiest couple in the whole state than night.
