After owning it for 41 years this April, I decided to put it on the chopping block. I've half-assed been trying to sell it by word of mouth for the last couple of years, but bit the bullet yesterday and placed it for sale nationally.
No regrets.....yet.....

You have your decades mixed up.....
oh man. your friggen killin' me. i had a 71 non-Z and loved it. always wanted to get another of that era. i love the 70-73's.
you must not have run that thing in the winter up there. mine was a NM car and spotless when i bought it and lived in the south. inside of 2 years of PA driving, it was a rot box. i wish i could have garaged it and ran a beater but i was poor and it got me to work.
is that the LT1? 3.73's? mine was a 6 banger that i dropped a 4 bolt 350 truck motor into and converted the 3 speed to a 4 speed. it was fun.
Nice looking ride.
I'm after a 70 LeMans Sport convertible to replace the one I let get away in my I know everything days.
aalf, I wish you the best through the sale. I have toyed with selling my '70 Nova that was my first car, and have had 18 years now--just don't have the balls to put it up for sale. Last year I had someone seriously inquire about what I'd ask for it, and told them a really high number as I was afraid they'd pony up the cash if I didn't ask too much.
LT-1's were dead by 73. It is a 350, rated at 245 on the sticker. I believe it has 3.42's.
They were 4-bolt main 350's weren't they?

Yes.
This car should have been a 74 Firebird 455 Super Duty.
I learned that Pontiac was discontinuing that one, so I went to the dealer to order, but I missed the cutoff date by a week.
Neat that you bought it new and the condition its in now. Seems like a fair price too. GLWS..............
I've had a 66,70 and 71 Lemans Sport Convertible all get away from the family and am sick over it.
The 71 had part of the GTO package.

Thanks....
First car was a 69 Chevelle 2 door hard top 307 w/ 3 on the tree, no PS or PB's that I bought two years earlier.
I ordered the Z-28 when I was a senior in high school.
How many dogs does it hold?
How many dogs does it hold?
Not sure.
I did learn it would hold one girl in the back seat though.....
Man, that's low miles. Nice car.
Seems like a deal.

Dont do it man! That is a awesome ride!!
You can put together LOTS of new guns with that jingle.

I'll keep some and throw the rest in the trunk....
I had a '69Z, nothing left to sell...long story, but what a ride!
Low miles, not seen an LT in a long time.
Sweet Z
Are you going to throw in your jean jacket and REO Speedwagon 8-track?
That's acutally a sweet car.
It's interesting to see how the horsepower has risen over time. I was looking at some older Road and Tracks (1976) and that was at the beginning of the decline in horse power (which probably reached a low ebb in the early 1980s). Now we routinely see horsepower in the 400 plus range (and with relatively decent fuel mileage). Some technology does have benefits. But at the same time, the raw horsepower and light weight of mid 1960s cars was something special. I wished I had kept my 1966 Shelby GT 350!
Beautiful ride! Good job on keeping it stock.
Super sweet! I'd hate to let it go.
Nice camoro, I had a 68. Wish I still had it.
What a nice Z-28! How could you put on so few miles?? If I owned that car, I'd put that many miles on in a year - along with a couple new sets of tires!!
Im selling the road runner too.
I wished I had kept my 1966 Shelby GT 350!
What would that car be worth now days??

Lots.
A friend had a 66 350H (Hertz rent-a-car Shelby) and got big coin for it.

Thanks...
Kinda by accident. November of that year I bought a 72 K-5 4x4 Blazer with a 350 4 speed for bombing around hunting, fishing, and general mischief, so the the Z got stored winters from year one. Plus I always had motorcycles and various other things for less important transportation.

MY 1971 was the end of the muscle car era. Everything after that was CAFE restricted.
I always wanted one of the very early Z's, bought a 68 Chevelle instead. As a mid-life crisis car, bought a bright red '87 Z-28. Wasn't the same kind of power - had a 305 under the hood, but the suspension was great and the acceleration surprising. Wish I'd given it to my son as I had planned, but I really know how that would have turned out.
My buds are after me to buy a Harley to ride with them. I decided I'd buy a 69 Z-28 convertible when I can afford it.

A bunch of Harleys have come and gone though my door, but the "Z" has persevered....
