Or at least that is sorta how it feels right now. It actually felt kinda wierd packing up and leaving that tiny hospital room as it had become our second home for 9 straight days and we became VERY familiar with each nurse, caregiver, cleaning persons, and where the various coffee and snack stations were on the floor. Packing up took a while, too. Several fast trips by me back to our guest quarters room to get clean cloted etc. and each specialist or Chaplain who came by brought something for us to read and keep. We needed to borrow a flippin food service cart to wheel all of our stuff back to the residency facility!

Sherri still is very tender and weak, had to be brought here by wheelchair and van, but I have no doubt that she will not get better, fast.

Heartbreaking to see my marathon running, gym rat superwoman reduced to a wheelchair, but I take solace that this is but for a very short time. This gal is going to bounce back, and quickly!

Got to crash land now, my first decnet,. FLAT bed in over 11 days! I am rummy and punch drunk and on the verge of a major low back spasm that could put ME in the hospital! Lidocaine patch on, Soma and Ultram in and at work, so good night ya'll. I thought you might want to rejoice with us in this grand turn of events and change of scenery.

Blessings,

MARK

Good.
Good grief Mark we don't need you in the hospital too. Take care.
Good news, Mark! Both of you get some rest and heal.

Prayers continuing.

Great!!!
Good news! Not through praying for y'all thoughI'll keep you on the list for a while longer.
Good news.

Just don't over do it in the next few days.
Keep on running Mark!

Godspeed!
Great News, Mark. Y'all are in our Prayers!
That is the best news you have had yet. Just take things slowly and one day at a time. You both need to just rest and relax and enjoy yourselves. Let the rest of us do the worrying and praying for you guys for awhile longer.

Take care.

Dave
just take it slow and let God handle the rest of it...

he has you both in the palm of his hand, and the prayers of your fellow forum members in his ears...

time heals all ills...
I have no doubt the staff was glad to see you go as well, but in a sad way.

Dan

One step and one day at a time. Praise the Lord for his miracles.
Hope you both continue to improve with Gods hand on you.
Sherri and you arestill in my prayers.
Awesome news!
WOW, what a difference a decent nights sleep can make! My back is still spasming a bit, but after being so sleep and rest deprived for so long I feel like a new man this morning.

Sherri went right to sleep as soon as I helped her out of her street clothes and into her 'cuddleduds' which is her favorite brand of long underwear/sleep clothes. She woke up for a minute when I got my coffee, but is back sound asleep again and the sound of my Angel sleeping soundly is the sweetest music I could ever hope to hear on this planet.

In the hospital, the staff HAS to wake you up every so often to check your vitals, and the IV pump is noisy, and the hospital bed is only "OK" as far as comfort. Sherri has a couple of pressure sores starting to develop so the Nurses gave her a padded bandage thing over them and sent us with a couple of extra's but I am certain they will resolve quickly now with Sherri being up in a wheelchair or walking a little instead of tied to the bed with all of the lines and chords they had her captive with. You should have SEEN us trying to get her unwrapped and untangles in a hurry a couple of times when she needed to get to the bedside commode! A Rubitz Cube would have been simpler to resolve! smile

Anyway, we both slept all night for the most part, and I just brought her up a light breakfast to nibble on. She still has to eat small amounts and be careful so as not to re upset her digestive systems all over again. That said, this change of scenery from a small, square hospital room to a hotel like setting with pretty decor and real furniture and nice soft earth tone colors is an elixer for the both of us in ittself.

THANK YOU, EACH of you who have been praying and who contiue to pray as Sherri heals and I try to keep my Kidney impacted low back from blowing all the way out as I caregive for my sweetheart and my angel. I am sitting with ice packs across my low back while drinking my coffee and I took one of my limited use 10MG Hydrocodones when I awoke along with a muscle relaxer so as to keep my back in functioning order. Despite just having finished two 20 ounce cups of strong coffee, I think I am headed back to bed in a few minutes. I will be seranaded sweetly back to peaceful sleep by the sounds of my bride breathing slowly in her (FINALLY!) peaceful sleep.

I will check back in here when we are both fully awake and can take a complete census of which systems are in order and on line or not. Right now, that awsome flat bed - as well as getting to be right beside my sweetheart as she sleeps - is calling my name!

With genuine deepest gratitude and appreciation toward each of my friends here, and THANKSGIVING to our great and wonderful God,

MARK
Happy for you! Hope you both keep improving.
Breif update on my issues. Sherri is my focus and prayer subject right now, fully but I was able to hand off my Medical records including the DVD and CD/ROM video's of my brain scans, spinal chord X-rays and Ultrasounds of my enlarged and cyst filled kidneys. The RN who took these from me was totally shocked when she learned that NO ONE in Walla Walla had suggested getting a biopsy of my brain 'growth' (whatever it is) to see if it was a lesion or begnign or what. When Sherri comes back in 3-4 weeks for a follow up, they will fly me back at the same time and hook me up with thier brain oncologist and Nephrologist (Kidneys specialist) to see what they think should be done to maybe get some relief and higher quality of life for me. They have a super expensive and still quite rare Gamma Knife that can remove brain tumors and other things without cutting through ones skin or skull! I would love to come out of that taking less than my current regimen of 20 something prescription pills a day.... Pretty amazing. I thought a couple of you might like to know.
