Bathtub Lift Information - 03/14/14
My dad has a nice whirlpool bathtub he never uses because he can't get in and out safely. He's 86 years old, has an artificial knee, and very little strength in his arms and legs.
A few years ago he slipped while using his tub and cracked some ribs. Since then he only uses a walk-in shower. I think he would start using his tub again if he knew he couldn't slip. I looked at some bathtub lift videos and they seem to work well.
If a physician determines an elderly patient needs a lift, will Medicare pay for it? He has Medicare Parts A and B for primary, and Blue Cross for his secondary insurance.
Do any forum members use a bathtub lift? Pros & Cons? Recommendations?
