My wife has used it extensively for quite some time. Can't say anything strange has gone on.

If you are interested in genealogy, it's a good investment. With it, I was able to reconstruct my ggg grandfathers Civil War battle history, discover ancestors in the Revolutionary War, and tract some line back into the middle ages. It can be very interesting.

my younger brother has been using Ancestory.com for several years. Great research tool, and a lot of peripheral sites and resources as well that belong to the Mormons.

It's remarkable what you can find.

Really cool stuff on there. Surprising immigration related stuff too. Found my grandparent Ellis Island records and even found evidence of my great grandfather visiting 40 years prior when I had no idea he had ever been to America. Some of the documents will even list occupations and things like that.

Mormans are big on genealogy so they can baptize someone in your name. My aunt is a mormon and a fruitloop. According to her Pocahontas' sister is in out tree. I'm raising my BS flag on that one.

My wife bought me the spit dna kit for Christmas. Haven't gotten around to sending it in yet. Should be pretty cool, though I'm loath to input personal info into innanet sites.

If we were originally from WestVirginia I'd say both. Grin.
Sorry about the aunt.

If you had any one night stands or casual sex with people you didn't keep in touch with, you might end up VERY surprised.

I used it once for about a month. I signed up, paid the fee for one month and used it extensively. By the end of a month I had found enough to satisfy my interest and had learned what info. is available out there and where to find it. At that time, I had no trouble unsubscribing from the service.

I uncovered some really interesting family history in the process and was able to share it with my father, which prompted him to write a brief family history as best he knew it. We had a few good conversations about his time growing up and all the old family members he remembered. A few months later Dad passed away suddenly. Really glad I used Ancestry.com when I did. It was well worth the time and money.

Thanks guys,Having my grandparents being from Kentucky,I feel there will be some cool civil war history, and before that era.

I used it once during a "free weekend" offer. It provided some information, but not much. A lot depends on when your ancesters arrived here. In my case, I was able to locate the arrival information for my grandparents, but nothing prior to that. One of my relatives even tried to do some research in the old country, but no luck. When the Soviets came through, they destroyed all the records -- government, church, everything. Even the grave markers in the cemeteries. Obviously they are limited by what records are available.
