,..where I go when it all starts closing in.
I guess me and Blackbeard have that in common.
looks pretty closed in already.
Maybe from the sky,...but you can drive 3 miles down the road,..park your car, and walk on a beach that has no footprints.
The village is just where you go at night to have a few drinks at Howard's pub and eat a Bluefish basket.
You can also show up at the pier outside bar in your pajamas and nobody gives it a second thought.
Just because there's no reason not to on Ocracoke.
And a cell phone will not work here either.
Yeah,...but at day's end,...you cain't go down to Howard's pub,...drink a martini, and flirt with the long legged women there.
All you can do is screw a dead mountain goat.
The wife and I are planning a trip there
Ain't nobody bother you at Ocracoke.
If they do,..this is what happens.

Blackbeard had good taste. Not a footprint on the sand.

I think you'll like it.
Pick a place to stay over by Springer's Point.
It's kind of out of the way.
There used to be a lot of good efficiencies over on British Cemetary Road,...but they must have gotten bought out.
It seems about perfect, we like laid back. Were planning on New Orleans again but it's time for a change.
Ever been to Cedar Key?
Be damned if i ain't ready to go back.
My first wife would camp.
This one won't camp.
Me and my tiny, petite first wife honeymooned on the outer banks.
We pitched a tent at the Salvo campground back by the cemetary.
At night I'd fire up the Coleman lantern and go fishing in the sound with bloodworms.
She'd read,...and I'd catch spots for breakfast,.....
damn,.....
I should'a stayed.
,...fuggin' ignert ass youth.
I came back home after that.
I don't know what I expected to find that would beat it.
Whatever it was,.....I never did.

No,...I've seen you talk about it.
It's made me interested.
Too touristy. If you want to be alone, go to Corolla and head due north. Time stands still there.
Been to Howards myself. I built a beach house in Avon in the offseason. The island takes to long to get to just for a visit inseason... imo.
It's different from when I was there first in 1978,...that's true.
But there's no place on earth like Ocracoke.
You just have to avoid the places that have been corrupted.
There's not too many left,...but they're there.
This cat was the bartender down to Howards when I was there last time.
http://www.ocracokecurrent.com/73519He don't givva chit.
As long as you're mature enough to maintain a semblance of hospitality, you can get bent as a pretzel at Howards,....and I can do that.
After all,...you're perched on a sandbar 65 miles out in the Atlantic.
Only an azzhole would care,...
,....ain't too many azzholes out there.
I managed to run into one,...but he was from New Jersey.
Just as it should be, if you disturb the natural order of things.
