Doesn't necassarily have to be a favorite,...hell, I'm horrible at picking a favorite ANYTHING. But, when you're flipping channels, and you run across it,...you HAVE to watch it...
Tonight,...it's Apocalypse Now!! Love this movie! I could probably recite the whole dang movie.
Shawshank redemption Pretty much any Mel Brooks movie (Young Frankenstein, History of the world, The Producers, Blazing Saddles come to mind). Pretty much any Clint Eastwood Western. Up to and including Unforgiven The Dirty Dozen A Bridge too Far The Devils Brigade Forrest Gump (I've seen that sucker over a dozen times) "momma always says" A Thin Red Line Saving Private Ryan Apocalypse Now
For some reason I find Me Myself and Irene Hysterical. I think it's the White cop with the 3 MENSA black kids :-)
I have about a hundred of em but,,,,,, Josey Wales The Shootist Quigley and Bullet come to mind right now.
Just about anything with Robert Mitchum too. The Sundowners is my favorite but River Of No Return's good too. Course having Marilyn Monroe in it probably has allot to do with that one.
Any film Tarantino's name is on. He might be nuts but he makes good cinema.
And honestly just about any Leonardo DiCaprio film. He is an outstanding actor. "The wolf of Wall Street" might have been a tasteless movie, but damn did he pull off his part well.
I'm a big fan of the new Marvel Comics movies, although I never liked the comics: Thor 1/2, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America 1/2, The Avengers, Iron Man 1-3, etc
And if you've never seen "Grandma's Boy" you should watch it although it is geared more towards the computer generation folks, gamers mostly.
And every movie mentioned so far by everyone else.
I really like The Thin Red Line too. It doesn't seem to get the credit it deserves when the topic of war movies comes up.
Also, a big comic book movie fan. I very rarely actually GO to a movie, but my daughter and I WILL see the new X-men! Quick sidetrack... I read yesterday that they're already considering recasting Robert Downey Jr. for the (possible) Iron Man 4. Considering the fact that he'd be 53-54ish by the time the next Avengers is out. I can't even imagine someone else playing Tony Stark. He made that role to me. Carry on...
Tombstone The Searchers Dances With Wolfes Jerimiah Johnson Mountain Men ANY Clint Eastwood or John Wayne Movie Shooter Legends of the Fall Last of the Dogmen Quigley Mountain Men Wild Bill Pulp Fiction Saving Private Ryan Platoon Full Metal Jacket
My cousin Vinny The Big Lebowski Tommy Boy Lethal Weapon series (3 was a turd and 4 had that annoying SOB, Chris Rock, but the series is a package deal.)
Grumpy/Grummpier Old Men Groundhog Day Harry And The Hendersons - don't ask me why, I don't know. I have only seen it on tv three times in my entire life but watched it to the end all three times.
I keep seeing Quigly Down Under. I have never see it, gotta look for it, must be good.
I remember when it first came to television. During the chariot race, I took a bath, went to bed, went to school the next day, came home, played in the yard, ate supper, and the race was still going.
A Bronx Tale Shawshank Redemption The Sting Jeramiah Johnson Any of the Austin Powers movies A River Runs Through it The Molly Maguires The Patriot Jaws
The original Planet of the Apes movies Dirty Mary Crazy Larry Death Race Next of Kin Open Range I Am Legend Joe Dirt Grown Ups The fast and the furious series Terminator 2 Walking Tall (original and remake both) The Last Castle Twister Roadhouse Men of Honor Gladiator(the one with Cuba Holding Jr.about boxing) Bad Boys(the one about juvenile delinquents with Sean Penn) Young Guns and Young Guns 2 And pretty much any western with Clint Eastwood or John Wayne in it
Oh Brother Where Art Thou. Never watched it from start to finish but I will watch it for an hour or so when I find it surfing the channels. Love the music and it makes me laugh.
Dr. Strangelove. There are some really great scenes. When he goes off on flouridation I think of the campfire...jus saying.
I read where Peter Sellers said in an interview the first month of shooting they all thought Slim Pickens was a great method actor, then they found out he was really like that in real life like he was in the movie.
