Joker is an appropriate name for a coach that gets caught on film by a MIAMI fan talking to a recruit during the no contact period. This is small change for this program, most stuff gets swept under the table in Hogtown.

maybe oldelkhunter can explain the scandal with the shoes at FSU? The recruiting imbroglios there? The current cover up of their quarterback Winston? How about the major academic cheating scandal in 2007, with grade fixing and the coverup?
No one said UF was without blame, or without it's share of problems. FSU fans though, want to believe none of that ever happens with THEIR program. Glass houses and all that........
FSU's Bowden did virtually the same thing in our hometown a few years ago. FSU van parked in our friends parking lot next to high school during the no contact period. She went out there to ask what they were doing, to which they replied that they were just there for a short while and would be gone. He was in the van and did not speak to her...others did the talking. Shortly, the HS recruit walked up and got in the van, presumably to talk with the coaches. After about 15 minutes or so, he gets out, walks back to the HS campus, van drives off, and he commits to F$U a short time later. How bout that?

It's certainly not over a "damn game". It's about civic pride, pride in your alma mater, state or region. It's about friends, family, and Saturday afternoons.
Like it or not, it's a huge part of our culture and certainly much more than just a "damn game".
That said........fugg the Gaytors. Is it football season yet?
