Worked at a Hyundai dealer from '86-'90. Got to know those cars pretty well. Had a few myself - the rest I bought for the wifey-poo to drive when she had a long commute; like, 30K miles/year. (all above had my name on the title) Couldn't beat the 10/100K warranty. Used it twice, both times for major items (engine, trans) and both times they paid for everything including the tow - zero deductible... SIL has one now and absolutely LOVES it. The last one I had (07 Santa Fe) was one of the best running/best handling vehicles I've ever driven.., but I had leased it and didn't really need to buy it.. Some of the other vehicles were used in the business when I had a nursury/landscaping period from '71-'80..
Finally got over the sports car kick circa '98.. Hope to never have to buy another truck - this '11 F-350 PSD dually better last me the rest of my life..
1960 Ford Galaxy 1964 Pontiac Tempest 1965 Chevrolet BelAir 1975 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (first new car) 1985 Mustang GT 1993 Mustang LX 5.0 2005 Toyota Matrix 1981-2014....Nine Ford F-150 4x4's all purchased new. Specific years are a little fuzzy, currently a 2014 Ecoboost.
I did a LOT of car flipping years ago, sometimes driving them a month or two while I fixed them up and / or marketed them. The number was over 100 10 years ago.
I will list the more notable cars and motorcycles I owned later, after I think on it and remember some more detailes and timelines.
1988 Toyota 2wd pickup dad 'loaned' me. Drove through college and gave back in 2003. 2003 GMC Z71. My first actual vehicle purchase. 220,000 miles of absolute minimal repairs required Got married and 'acquired' a 2007 Chevy Z71 and a 2001 Honda Civic. Sold the Chevy, bought a 2006 F250. Still drive the Honda as my daily driver. Wife has a 2007 Camry now.
'68 Olds 4-4-2 Hurst equipped with the 455 V-8, springloaded shifter on the Saginaw close ration 4spd, 4.11 posi tracton rear end and other goodies. Bright red with perfect white leather interior.
69 Olds 442, 400ci, automatic and boring compared to the first one.
71, 74 and 78 for pinto's
'56 VW bug with 36hp motor and no gas guage, just a dipstick in the tank and an emergency/reserve switch
'80 Olds Cutlass Wagon, Formerly a 350 diesel but I put a 6.6L (403) V-8 from a Tran Am in there. Ran GOOD!
73 Ford 12 passenger Station wagon, plastic wood on the sides.
71 Thunderbird with PAW crate motor, 490 ci, Holley cam, intake and carb matched set up, 50.000 volt coil etc. License plate read "Rad Dad" Same years I was rollin with my Mullet
65 Ford Mustang GT fastback 4 speed, hot rodded 302 with all of the usual goodies i.e. Sig Erson cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holley 750cfm carb etc.
66 Ford Bronco with a fiberglass body, lift kit, no windshield or doors
63 Scout, no windshield or doors
70 Ford "Hiboy" 3/4T 4x4 truck with 44 inch Dick Cepek mudder tires, 390 and 4 speed transmision, Dana 60 front and rear axles, 12 leafes in the rear, 8 in the front. Rode like a freight train derailed onto a rock bed.
78 Chevy BLazer C-10 with rare 4 speed, hot rodded 383 cu in motor, loads of fun.
Only car I ever bought new, owned it 6 years, first one in the county 2003 Cadillac CTS Sports coupe with sports pack (5 speed, low profile chromed wheel/tire combo, sunroof) AND luxury package with Bose Surround sound. Yes, that little DOHC V-6 car with variable valve timing WOULD do 144 plus, and handle well while doing it. Would also squeal the tires pretty good in the first three gears.
Current:
'03 Bright Yellow, lifted, Chev Avalanche with custom black wheels and 36 inch mud terrain tires.
'03 "R" series (sort of looks like a flat tracker) Harley Davidson Sportster, mildly hopped up or modified.
M/C's of the past include a couple other Harley's of various flavors, One Gold Wing (MAJOR league ICK factor! Just kill me if this is all I have to ride or can ride ever again) Yamaha Virago, and a whole big pile of Yamaha Enduro 125's, 250's 360's etc and one TT500 that was a POWERBEAST.
Also have owned about 6 or so ROKON's. 2WD 2 wheelers, look sort of like a giant mini bike with power to both ends and HUGE tires. Cannot handle them, physically, right now. Post kidney transplant if I survive it? Gettin me another one!

My 1st car was a 1969 Firebird convertable. Dad found one cheap. The car had been hit and rained on with the top down. I paid $500 for it in 1974. Dad knew a guy who did body work that fixed the dent and repainted it for $200. I replaced the carpet myself. Drove it through HS but had to sell it for something easier on gas when I went to college. Mine wasn't this clean, but was the same car. Same color. How I wish I'd have found a way to keep it.

While I have had a few cars that are supposed to be interesting such as a new Porsche and a number of Corvettes. The greatest car I ever owned was my new 1969 Ford XL convertible. I ordered it with the 429 4 bbl. and air.
It was black with a white top and gold seats. It was the king of the road for me back then. In the winter I drove a Toronado with snows on the front.

Actually, I liked the Challenger the best, wish I would have kept it.
The B210 was brown and fugly as hell but it had a crankin stereo in it. lol
That reminds me of high school so much. Funny stuff. I remember that color as well. ..and when Datsun changed to Nissan [or at least that's what I was told]. If we're going for a "cool" factor, the challenger is my first pick.

fun exercise, brings back memories. Boring cars, but great memories! All were/are good vehicles, with very little maintenance, except the 2004 Suburban and my wife's first car, her mustang which blew a head gasket at 110,000 miles, with lots of other problems before that.
Between my wife and I: 72 Buick Skylark (good car) 79 mustang (bad bad car) 80 Citation (good car) 84 K-5 Blazer (great truck) 85 Accord (great car) 88 4-runner (great truck) 92 Corolla (good) 2001 Suburban (good) 2002 Tundra pickup (still have, great truck) 2004 Suburban (still have, oil burner, good enough truck, great ride, but lots of repairs needed) 2010 Corolla (still have, good car)
Things to ride for hunting or ice fishing: 72 Johnson snowmobile with reverse (good enough) 84 Polaris 340 TXC (good, fun to ride) 1987 Skidoo Tundra (great machine, still have) 1993 Skidoo Tundra (great machine, still have) 2007 450 Yamaha Grizzly (great wheeler, still have)
68 Pontiac Catalina. 400 V-8 and a trunk so big it had it's own area code. 70 Cutlass 76 Chevette-"the vette" 80 Chevette cuz one "vette" experience wasn't enough 66 Scout-posi front and rear. That ugly old crate could climb a telephone pole 66 Jeep Wagoneer, with the infamous Pontiack 230 Tornado straight 6. You could have mounted a 55 gallon drum of oil on that thing and it would still be low. 84 Pontiac Sunbird. 78 Bronco 82 Blazer Mercury Sable Several Chrysler Mini-Vans 2 Chevy Luminas Ford Explorer
Of all these, I wish I still had the Catalina. Just nice big old piece of Detroit metal.
I saw a list of "other vehicles" so I'll post some of ours too. My brother and I did a 2 year stint racing sleds, and managed to go through a lot of equipment between racing and just riding.
72 Polaris Colt 295 73 Polaris Colt 340 70 Mercury a.k.a. The Beast 72 Artic Cat EXT the only black piece of crap we ever owned or ever will 74 Massey Ferguson enough said 75 Rupp Nitro 440 FA Fast out of the hole and could turn with the best of them.. 76 Mercury Sno-Jets one in 440 and one in 340. Just about untouchable on the flat tracks until Polaris came out with it's I.F.S. RXL models. Truly a shame that Merc pulled the plug on their sled business, as these were tough, hard to beat machines. We swapped through a bunch of old stuff to get parts we needed for barter or to fix up wrecks we bought. There were Ski-doos, Moto Skis, Skiroules, Bruts, Vikings, Speedways, Scorpions, Chapparals, Herters, and even a very weird looking Bolens. Oh yeah, we owned a Harley Davidson for about a week also.
Racing on the tightest of shoestring budgets was always an adventure. We mostly ran the Mercs until parts became tough to find. We'd buy blown up motors, used skis and tracks, anything we could get a deal on. Put 'em back together and bring those old war horses back to life for another weekend. Our mantra always was that as long as we beat the Arctic Cats, it was a successful weekend. Gawd, how we hated anything BLACK! IMO, Arctic never made a decent sled once they quit running Kawasaki power plants. The El-Tigre's were a much better sled with Kawasaki engines.
I forgot to add we had a 85' Blazer S-10....I know what you mean about the biggest POS EVA! That little gutless 2.8 liter could barely pull a 12' alum boat over Snoqualmie pass, and the tranny was the loudest, clunky piece of garbage.

72-Honda SL-70 80cc Rupp 72-Honda SL125 370cc Bultaco that really taught me how to ride a motorcycle
1964 Falcon Ranchero-it had seen better days by the time I paid $250.00 for it in 1977. 1965 Ford Fairlane with every factory option. It was a great car in very good vintage condition. 1972 Pontiac Ventura-Kermit green with a white vinyl top and standard break, steering and transmission. No air and AM only radio. Smoked like a wood stove. Datson B-210-had to down shift to climb a moderate hill and carry a five gallon jerry can of water for the leaky radiator. 1970 Fiat that would only strand me in thunderstorm or blizzard or on days over 100 degrees and always far from home or in really bad parts of town. 1970 Ford Station wagon with a 460 motor with a bad muffler and fake wood trim. It was a chick magnet for a young guy to drive around in...not. A jeep I built containing parts from 1967-1976. Got me through college. 1978 Ford Fairmont 4 banger 3 on the tree. Top speed 55mph and had to remove the heater core to stop the flooding in the floor boards. Almost got me through grad school. 1983 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer 1987 Mitsubishi Mighty Max 4x4-great truck and the first new one I purchased after going to work as an assistant district attorney. 1991 Dodge Dakota club cab 4x4-junk, blown head gasket with 35 miles and never was worth a damn. It would eat distributor gears about every 10k miles 1996 Ford Ranger 4x4. Good truck until the day if caught on fire at my gun club 2000 Dodge Dakota 4 door 4x4 V-8-320,000 miles and still didn't burn oil when I traded it for the next one. Best vehicle I ever owned and the most comfortable truck I ever drove or have ridden in either the front or back seats. 2008 Dodge Dakota 4 door 4x4 V-8(purchased new in 2009)-100,000+ miles and still going strong. Not as comfortable or as powerful and the 2000 above, but a good truck so far.
1. 77 VW Rabbit - first car and beat the crap out of it and it just kept going 2. 76 VW Rabbit - parts car 3. 79 VW Rabbit - parts car 4. 84 VW Rabbit GTI - still my all time favorite. I messaged the engine a bit with larger throttle body, opened up intake, put a header on it, gutted the cat, put a cat-back system, eibach racing springs, bilstein shocks, short throw shift kit. I could smoke the tires shifting into third and surprised quite a few muscle cars with this thing, and the handling was unreal. Big downside was sucked in winter and I couldn't get back to my hunting spots in it. 5. 78 Chevy k1500 - see above. Got tired of getting stuck. This thing was driven hard and put away wet before I got it, and I continued the trend. This was bought to beat on and I did, but it got the job done. 6. 87 Pontiac Grand Am - total POS. During an era that GM produced some truly terrible cars, this one stood above the crowd and led the pack I think. Not sure if it was built on the Monday after the superbowl or what but words cannot describe how bad and unreliable this car was. 7. 90 Bronco II - good little rig, had a few quirks 8. 97 S10 ZR2 - great truck but had to sell it when the first kid was born as there wasn't room for a car seat in back. 9. 94 GMC S10 Jimmy SLT - wife's rig when we first met. Nice vehicle but really was a POS as it had a lot of gremlins 10. 97 Bravada - traded in above for it. This was a great vehicle for us but we sold it when kid #2 arrived and we needed more space. 11. 94 Chevy Silverado - good truck still see it buzzing around town though it's rusted to crap 12. 97 GMC Yukon SLT - sold Bravada to buy this. Our first full sized SUV and it was a good ride for us. 13. 01 Chevy Tahoe - newer/fancier version of the 97 Yukon for the wife 14. 04 Suburban Z71 - kid #3 arrived and once again needed more space 15. 04 GMC 2500 HD crew cab- still have it though relegated to work truck/plow truck status 16. 07 GMC Yukon XL SLT - wife still drives it good rig with a couple quirks 17. 04 Pontiac Vibe AWD - bought it to drive for a year until oldest daughter turned 16, which happened this summer. Great little car goes like a tank in snow and has no power so perfect for a 16 yr. old. 18. 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD - my current rig the diesel is very nice put a OME/Bilstein lift on it.
As family happened/grew, vehicles got bigger. As they are getting older, vehicles will start getting a bit smaller again I have a feeling.
