My MIL passed away 1 year ago on the 20th. MY wife is already starting to feel it. Her mom's birthday was yesterday and she was depressed all day. I want to do something simple and nice for her.

My idea is to get a few California Golden Poppies. Her mom's favorite flower. Just leave them for her to find.

I just dont know if it is the right thing?

I also thought about putting together a multi picture frame with pictures of her mom and dad who are both gone now.

Any ideas? Or do you think either of these will be good for her wounded spirit?

Go with the poppies.

The poppies sound like a great idea. I'd also leave a nice neutral card with an uplifting message, and write on it that you miss her too and how much you love your wife.

Both ideas are excellent IE, when my father died I let depression set in and my wife made me a picture collage of my father and me, it sure did lift my spirits and might of even made me shed a tear or two but I wouldn't admit it.

Thanks guys. I think i can swing both. The card idea is good too. Just being there to hold her and let her know that i am here for her is a good idea. Its gonna be a tough day for us. I miss her too and my wife knows it. My son broke Mommy's heart by asking when he could see his Gramma Gramma again. It took her a while to compose herself after that one.
