I was waiting David.

This is the offical Sunday NFL list. Sorry guys but none other compare to this one.
Now pick you winners for the day.

KC is about the only one I care about today, they will win.

Things are about to get ugly in DC!
Posted By: 2Bimmers Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/16/14
If the Panthers can't beat the Falcons in Charlotte, it's time to mail in the season.

up 3-nil after 1.
Posted By: byc Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/16/14
Boo-birds are out in mass at FedEx. I expect to hear we want Colt chants before long.

Lots or penalties, TO's and missed scoring attempts. NOTHING is working in their favor against a 1-9 Bucs team.

Bucs up 10-zip all off fluke TO's.
Posted By: Ghostinthemachine Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/16/14
Friggen Cutler just blindly heaved one ala Brett Favre for a 44 yd TD to Marshall.

Bears up 14-10.

REDSKINS finally get on the board so now everyone loves bob123 again!

Panthers are freakin' awful. Newton doesn't look good, but his o-line is mediocre at best.
Posted By: Joel/AK Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/16/14
I'm hoping the lions win but I think the cards are gonna stomp them.

Stafford is a joke but is lucky as hell, even with Johnson back I don't think they can hold off AZ.

Can't be any worse then what's going on in DC. Thinking you could pick any 44 people from the stands that could play and beat either of these teams.

I stopped counting penalties after the first quarter. They have to be up about 30 flags thrown.

Then it's too bad the 'Skins and Panthers don't play this year.

24 to 20 KC

wonder what the Seahaggis would do without their QB.
I mean he's the RB, has no receivers I guess and plays QB.
Maybe he can learn to throw a pass to himself.

Sounds like the NFC West a few years back. IIRC, the conference champ made the playoffs with a 7-9 record.

Well, before the Packers are just given the superbowl, the cardinals keep chewing up top quality team after team. Three game lead in the division and two in the conference for home field throughout the playoffs including the superbowl since it's played here.

Detroit was huge for conference leads, I'm liking the math for #1 seed in the NFC.

wasn't that long ago the Pats looked....well Pathetic when they played KC

hard to read too much into one game, you have to look at the body of work

Steelers won the SB few years ago by struggling and then gettin hot at the end, same with NY Giants a few years after that

AZ may be for real, we'll see

but it is a league where anybody can beat anybody

that keeps it mildly interesting

Broncos were looking pretty good for awhile, not so much today though

And I'd love to see another Packer's vs Denver Super Bowl.

Yep. How many coaches have come and gone that were going to "revolutionize" the NFL?

The only one that have in my lifetime were Coryell (Air Coryell) and Seifert (West Coast offense). An honorable mention to the Tampa 2 defense, but it hasn't had the staying power.

Run the ball; stop the run; control the line of scrimmage on both sides; finish in the red zone; win the turnover battle. Do that, as from the beginning, and you'll win far more than you lose and likely win a few championships along the way.

Washington needs to decide SOON if RG3-out is going to be kept.

By May they have to decide to pick up his option. 18.4 million guaranteed for injury only.

Think about it a little and you realize why that's should scare the hell outta Redskin fans.
Posted By: byc Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
Yup and Gruden's recent sideline manner has not exactly been bob friendly. Were it up to him I believe he would rather have a manageable, smart QB type, which he may have in Colt.

There are some really good players on this team but one weak leader can bring the whole lot down. I also saw some very GOOD frustrated REDSKINS receivers today. Even Alfred Morris seemed a bit irritated and he's a rock.

Lastly, Snyder wants a new stadium and a super bowl. Lot of sports politics about to take place in DC.
Posted By: chlinstructor Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
Did you see RGIII's post game interview ?
He was wearing a wool Camo hunting coat and a Filson Elmer Fudd wool hunting cap. At least the kid's got class. Maybe he and Colt were hopping on a plane after the game to come home deer hunting in TX. wink. It's 24 degrees & snowing here!
Posted By: byc Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
I saw him wearing the Fudd hat in pre-game. I just figured he was being goofy.

Not sure what this guy is trying to achieve. I like him but he really seems to have lost what he had at Baylor and brought to the team in his first year. Boo birds were all over him today. Very rare that you hear a REDSKINS player booed like that.

Last one I remember booed like today was in 1999. Guy's name was Deion Sanders and he arrived here from Dallas. whistle Booed right out of the tunnel day one and every time thereafter. Never saw the first Sanders jersey in the stands either.

Freaking Dan Snyder!!

Do the math yourself.

They will cut dead weight and restructure players contracts that didn't perform. Our core super stars except for Wilson are already locked up for long term deals. You can also back load Russ's contract and tweek signing bonuses. All teams with deep talent have the same problem...nothing new.

What about their record indicates that they'll be entertaining home field advantage throughout the playoffs?

They're 6-4 with 3 road games to go so there's at least 1 loss (statistically) coming there. Plus you still have to play the 49's 2x, the Rams who just beat the Broncos. The 9-1 Cards 2x as well.

REALITY is that Seattle for all this talk of dynasty and reloading might not even sniff the playoffs with double digit losses.

Agreed. They are 3 games back of the Cardinals for the NFC West title, and a game back of the Cowboys, the Packers, and the Lions for the wildcard.

Next weekend's game against the Cardinals is essentially a "do or die" game for the Seahawks. Yes, it's in Seattle, so that they have that advantage. If they win, they'll likely still be a game back of at least one team for the top wildcard (and tied, at best, for the second), and two games back of the Cardinals. Lose, and they are four games back of the NFCW title with 5 to go and at least one game out of the second wildcard.

Seattle is 2-3 on the road this year, with losses to San Diego (who looks just pathetic right now), Dallas, and Kansas City. The two wins were against Denver in OT and a pretty bad Carolina team. None of those wins were decisive. In fact, none of their wins this year have been decisive outside of the NYG game and the first game of the season against a since-then MUCH improved Packers team. When a team slips past the 0-10 Raiders by six points and four points on a bad Carolina team, you're not a "dynasty" reloading.

The team chemistry is increasingly volatile. First, the Percy Harvin trade. Next, Lynch reverts back to his "fine me, I'm not talking" stint after the KC game - a game where he REFUSED TO GO TO THE LOCKER ROOM during halftime. Compound that with special teams players being ejected for throwing punches during games, and it's a team on the edge. One more big loss, and they are done - mathematically and likely psychologically.

Of course, I'm not making stuff up about Lynch not being in Seattle next year. See here: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11767085/seattle-seahawks-tire-marshawn-lynch

Add in the fact that they are ranked: next to last in sacks (ahead of only the woeful Raiders), tied for 23rd in INTs, 13th in OPP 3rd down conversions (tied with the pathetic Vikings), 17th in OPP 4th down conversions (tied with Tampa), 17th in 3rd down conversions (tied with Buffalo), and 19th in 4th down conversions, and this is a team with a lot of problems.

They are not a good road team, and they are not dominate on either side of the ball in any phase of the game. This is not a "dynasty" team. Their chemistry is suspect; they've already lost one dynamic player and at least one more has question marks as to his long-term tenure. They are behind in the race for their division, behind in the race for the wildcard, and haven't been convincing or consistent throughout the season.

Can Seattle still make the playoffs? Sure, but they'll almost assuredly make it as a wildcard team if they make it at all. For a team that doesn't play well on the road, they'd be looking at having to go on the road three times just to make it to the Super Bowl. That's not a recipe for success.

Now, to get to the cap conversations, please take a look here: http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/seattle-seahawks/

Marshawn Lynch counts $8M against the cap next year. How much of that goes away if he's cut/traded before June 1? Hmmm...

Figure that Russell Wilson will be the highest paid player on that roster next year (or at least #2), and the fact that they'll have to get some other contracts done for lines (O and D, as they need help on both), and add in some rookie contracts, and you're up against a cap wall pretty quickly.

Then again, I guess we're all just "idiots" for actually paying attention and not drinking the Kool-Aid out there North SanFran, huh?

And Brady wasn't on his game last night throwing 2 of the worst picks I've ever seen him throw. Jonas Gray just added another dimension to the Pats offense and the o-line is playing well.

And the defense, if they had a good pass rush I could see them winning out the rest of the season. Their toughest test in the next 6 games is in 2 weeks against Green Bay but I think it will be a close game, only because of the Pats secondary.

That game was horrible. The fans were calling for Colt the entire game. The only time they cheered was when RG3 slid on a run.

Post game was really bad with RG trashing his entire team. Things are coming to a head quickly in DC.

I think this will be an interesting game, alas Packers take it in the fourth quarter by 10.

When you sign a prima donna and then let him run off a coaching staff by dictating his terms to return from an injury and his desires for plays, then hold the team hostage for him to return yet again, WTF do you expect?

When you trade way your future for THREE drafts for one kid that is already injury prone, and who plays the most important position on the field in the riskiest possible manner (without the size to do it), WTF do you expect?

When you reward that idiocy by a huge contract and cap hit, WTF do you expect?

The 'Skins are dead for the rest of this decade because of the RG3 deal.

You'll be without a QB, again, next season. You'll be without a coach, again, next season. You'll be entering the draft looking for miracles with handcuffs on, again. You'll be staring at a weak QB free-agency market, again. You'll be out of the playoffs, again, repeatedly for the rest of the decade.

Not so sure. The Pack doesn't have much of a running game, but the Pats do. It should be a good one.

Now the bad news .... they will fire Jay Gruden and keep RG3 crazy

Knowing Snyder, that's likely the route he'll take - just to have RGKnee go down again to a season ending injury so he can string this charade out for at least two more seasons.

Well damn dude...just shoot me now. Don't believe it's quite as bad as you've dramatically made it out to be. The rest of this decade??? One change could potentially turn everything around. And the REDSKINS are beyond the stupidity of their RG3 picks. Gruden is not going anywhere.

Yep, the rest of this decade. What move do the 'Skins have to make? Do they have a player they can parlay into draft picks or other players? None of note and none of significance that can pull in a coup. Do they have draft picks to trade or use? Not any more; RGKnee accounted for them. Do they have significant cap space to be active in a free agency market? Nope. Are there major free agents coming up in the next couple of seasons that the 'Skins could target and acquire? Nope.

So, what magical move are they going to make? They went all in with RGKnee and got called holding a busted straight. They are out of chips and out of cards.

That's a good point, Gray is a punishing style runner and the GB defense is damn near last in rush defense.

Oh yeah, the Pats have some guy named Gronk too.
Posted By: Teal Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
Packers have held the last 2 teams to less than 100 rushing.

Forte and Shady aren't slouches in rushing.

Lacy's run/catch last night shows why you don't go high on the guy if you want to tackle him.

Greenbay is also way up there in rush attempts, 312 on the year. Numbers can be torqued any way you like. How about these:
28 TD
3 INT
2,748 YDS
120.1 Passer Rating

Belichick will try and befuddle Green Bay, but I don't see it coming together for them. Patriots will abandon the run after the start of the second quarter. Packers secondary will rape and pillage.

Packers lead the league in take-aways +14 differential.
Posted By: LeroyJenkins Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
How about 18TD, no picks, and a 138.1 QB rating at home on the year for Rogers.

Or 9TD to 4INT and a 90.8 QB rating on the road for Tom Brady.

Posted By: Hotload Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
Brady is very good ... but Aaron Rogers is the best QB in the NFL.

4ager, they can trade for Eli Manning or Jay Cutler.

Laffin' on all three accounts.
Posted By: 4ager Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
Eli would be an upgrade.

Who do they have to trade at all, though?
Posted By: LeroyJenkins Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
Well, RG3 I could see going to one of the needier teams. Texans, Titans, maybe the Jets.

What would you ask in trade for him though? A first round pick? (Yeah, good joke!)

Redskins mortgaged their future away on a poor decision. A new coach and a new quarterback isn't enough to save the redskins from the redskins. Too many poor decisions from the front office; draft, cap-space, free-agency, etc. All the classic failures are there.

I'd root for the Raiders having a better record next year than the Redskins.

Abandon all hope...........

Agreed, and I swear I said almost exactly that.

A second round pick for RGKnee would be a coup for the 'skins at this point.
Posted By: LeroyJenkins Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
To complicate the matter more, do you stick with Colt or Kirk to vet them out a whisker? Or draft and go full rebuild?
Posted By: 4ager Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
If you can get a decent vet, you stick with those two and sign the vet to mentor them. Use what you have left of draft picks to put some talent in needed positions and build a team from there. If neither pan out, then you have a team ready for a QB when you can get one.

Maybe Snyder should offer Rogers say ..........1/2 billion$.

I certainly don't have all the answers but there are 2 options. Let RG finish out the season, which should determine whether he belongs here and more important whether the team will play for him. If not then make the trade. What do the REDSKINS have to lose? At that point they don't appear to have a franchise QB in Griffin. So cut the losses and just concede to what was yet another terrible front office experiment.

Many are now saying RG is an insecure over-hyped QB who WAS a one trick pony. If so, those injuries took away the trick (his elusive speed) and now he wants to be someone he's not -- a pocket QB. If a bad marriage is what we have to work with then just end it after this season! BUT let him play his game for the next 6 weeks in hopes that he's not injured again. Fat chance of that huh?

In addition, time to hire a real GM who has personnel control. Bruce Allen is not that guy -- I don't care what his last name is. HE's been horrible and the Skins' draft during his tenure has been even worse. REDSKINS always go for quick fixes, which leads to desperation. Danny boy leads up a horrible organization and the front office is full of yes-men who create toxic atmospheres that inhibit success. And it now seems that RG could be the new toxic shark. But at the end of the day the smallest and most toxic shark of them all owns this team. Sure wished Mister Cooke was still around.

As for the rest of the team the REDSKINS have a stellar lineup of receivers and running backs. The defense with a few tweaks is fine. They do need a little help in the secondary. The weakest point for this team is the O line, which may explain some but not all of RG's problems. So for the next 6 weeks let the second O line step up and play for position. Going into 2015/2016 the Redskins should focus on nothing but the offensive line. As well, maybe some coaching changes. Let Gruden bring in dome of his own strategists.

The jury is out on Colt and Cousins but neither have had any consistent playing time so I say give both another season. Frankly, I still like both. In hindsight, the Redskins probably should have taken Tannehill or Kaepernick but that's water under the bridge.

So, the one card to play is to try to trade RGKnee?

Salvation will ensue, I'm sure.

BTW the entire team sucked yesterday. Not just RG. Other than Alfred Morris nobody stepped up. Not even the kickers. Monkeys phuggen a football doesn't even begin to describe how awful it was. Been going to REDSKINS games for 20+ years and this one might have been the worst.

Even the game itself sucked. The refs sucked. It all sucked!!!!

You still wonder whether that team will play for RGKnee?

Try a 7th rounder.

You picked up on that huh? grin
Posted By: 4ager Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
A blind man could have. That reduces your earlier position to "trade RGKnee". That's all they have, and that ain't much.
Posted By: byc Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/17/14
I said 2 options, which are rather obvious. Don't ya' think?
Posted By: 4ager Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/18/14
Sure, and one of those options is a non-starter (pun there), so that leaves one. That one options gets the team out of cap-space, dearth of talent, no draft pick purgatory? I think not.
Posted By: byc Re: NFL Sunday!!! - 11/18/14
So you can read the future?? HA!

Again, 2 options, which means he stays and starts or goes in what could be a value-added trade. And the REDSKINS are back on the draft clock in 2015.

Just because you've given up on RG3 and the REDSKINS doesn't mean the rest of us have. whistle

What do you think you'll get in return for RGIII if they try and trade him?

Agreed, David! Except it was 11 monkeys fuggin a football. But I still don't think RGIII is the team's problem. I think the Redskin's biggest problem is Coach Gruden! He's an AssWipe just like his brother Chucky!
And while I really like Colt McCoy, he will never be anything but a good backup QB.

I predict Snyder will trade RGIII to JJ & the Cowboys for Romo, and THEN trade all his next years first round pics to Cleveland for JF. It could happen wink

Lacy will run all over the Pat's and Clay Matthews is gonna eat Tom Brady's lunch all day long! Knock Brady on his candy ass 4 or 5 times and he'll turn into a INT throwing machine. He sucks under an all out blitz. Don't understand why nobody in the NFL can't figure that out.
