Home
I've been buried under stacks and stacks of new gun T&Es, going to long range shooting schools, perforating varmints and such. Too many guns, too little time. Thought you would enjoy a peek at some of the toys I've been playing with lately.

You dork. I haven't been away THAT long.
There were about 12 guys shooting Ruger Precision Rifles on the Outdoor Channel last night; figured you'd be one of them...

I could like that Texas AR if it shoots straight. smile

The first photo, is that the mysterious LAR-47, that Rock River has promised for two years?
Welcome back to the circus! It appears as though a good time was had.

Oh yeah, you suck!
You must be the "Wilson" of the Campfire.

Nah, I didn't make that gig or shoot that gun yet. The Ruger in this group is the laminate-stocked FTW Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor. It literally shot some one-hole groups.

The Texas AR, as you put it, is Rock River's new Texas Rifle -- the first in what may be a series of state-specific rifles. VERY nice gun...

And the gun in the first photo is the CMMG Mutant, a hybrid chambered in 7.62x39.

Thanks, I knew the circus would be in full swing...
Wish I could check in a little more often, but really have been buried in work.
The first one...you need about 5 flashlights, two grenade launchers, bayonet, and a mine sweeper attached so you can get the kiddie's to say....that's COOL!!
Where you shooting at with all that lush green turf?

BP...
I missed you...when I realized I was breathing a sigh of relief....

Mostly local range near New Braunfels, but there's probably a shot or two from Wyoming in the mix.

I'm touched. I thought you missed me because guys your age can't shoot straight...

Yes, it takes those evil socialist banana-shaped mags. Interesting design, they pivot around a steel pin in the front of the mag well (to preclude steel eroding away aluminum). It functioned fine and shot well.
What is that, those look like .357 mag, I didn't know they made a semi-auto that shoots regular .357?

Yes, Dan Coonan is back, and that's his new Commander. It is flat-out fun to shoot.

Regrettably, I DO have a tough day job. This is essentially my second job.
But what about the cartridges in the picture?
If you're talking about the cartridges with the handgun, that's .357 mag. The Coonan 1911 in the photo is chambered for .357 -- and yes, it works just fine with their proprietary magazines.
I have had the chance to shoot 2 of them.
They both worked fine and the one with the 38 spl.spring worked as well.
