New York Daily News - Wayne Barrett (author of Trump: The deals and the Downfall)

Trump on how misunderstood he is.....

I was also just joking back in 2006 when I said on "The View" that "If Ivanka wasn't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her." If Megyn doesn't like that either, maybe I'll stop being so nice to her.

Some people think I've already stopped being nice to her, just because of that blood-from-wherever comment. I think hormones should pick partners, not Presidents, and all of hers were on fire at the debate. Megyn looks a bit like my old sweetheart Marla Maples. Maybe she wants a taste of the best sex Marla ever had, according to the headlines. That could explain the hissy fit whenever Megyn sees me.

Wow.....
wow is right...apparently he's become the loose cannon some thought he was.

or he is the target himself. The media, and the pandit community are certainly zeroing in on The Donald. His detractors are free to print any fantasy they can concoct, and publish it for the gullible to pick up and run with.

Why should places like Italy, France, and Russia have all the fun with leaders who say and do outrageous things? It's about time we got in on the act as well I say.
Trump is a wealthy and powerful businessman who is used to dictating how things are going to be, not a diplomat who is skilled at working with people. I think that he would make a terrible POTUS, no better than Mr. Hope and Change himself.
True? I don't know, but somebody must not have anything to lose if it's not. Maybe he's just attempting to "vet" himself, which ain't a bad idea considering his sorted history.

Donald Trump's comments on Megyn Kelly are just small sample revealing his tumultuous history with women

BY Wayne Barrett /

SPECIAL TO THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS /

Trump’s comments about Megyn Kelly are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Trump’s comments about and history with women in his life, according to Barrett.

Trump’s comments about Megyn Kelly are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Trump’s comments about and history with women in his life, according to Barrett.

The time limits in the Republican debate didn't allow Donald Trump to explain himself fully. That gave him no choice but to cut short his answer to the question about the straight talk he delivers whenever he leaves Mexicans alone long enough to talk about women.

What follows is a sample of what he left out, drawn from real snippets in his life (he will surely publish "The Art of Love" soon), as well as his very contemporary reflections on how misunderstood he now is:

• Megyn thought she put together a great collection of my best women quotes: "fat pig," "dog," "slob," "disgusting animal." What a sloppy job. She missed my favorite — when I went to a party in 1990 for a foundation honoring one of my top casino executives, who’d died in a helicopter crash and, in my remarks, noted that the daughter of one of the men at the party was celebrating her 14th birthday, I said: “You shouldn't mess with her—14 will get you 20.” I have always gone a long way to prove I'm not politically correct.

• I took the Fifth Amendment over 100 times in my deposition during the Ivana divorce case, mostly to questions about other women. So don't call me anti-women.

• When Marla and I really got it going (it was the best sex she ever had), I put Ivana in charge of the Trump Castle in Atlantic City so I could hang out with my Georgia Peach all week. When Ivana came back to New York, I'd head down to AC with Marla. Friends called it the "Asbury Park marriage" because that's where Ivana's helicopter and mine passed in the night.

• And talk about binders full of women, I left Mitt in the dust. I peddled a spread to Playboy called "The Girls of Trump," offering my best-looking staffers.

• I told one interviewer that I "walk down and get hit on by everybody in the city," and that I turned down a thousand. "You take one out of 1,000 a few times a year, you know you're pretty good."

• When I did my last post-nup with Ivana in 1987, I gave her more money but removed one tiny clause, so when she moved for divorce and alleged that I'd been catting around, my lawyers could say: "continuing love and affection was not a material part of the 1987 agreement." Talk about the Art of the Deal!

During the divorce battle, I repossessed a four-year Mercedes I gave her even though the license plate was "IVANA."

I even tried to put per-kid bonuses in Ivana's pre-nup. She took it out, but I had all the leverage in the post-nup in 1987, just like I said I had "a lot of leverage" on the first question, when Bret Baier tried to nail me down on another kind of commitment. Wait until the RNC sees my post-nup terms if they want to get out of this marriage!

Look, when I was on the balls of my butt in 1990, and breaking up with Ivana, my mother Mary went to Ivana's birthday party and skipped my big blast at one of my casinos. So what woman can a man count on?

• After our divorce, Marla auctioned off 150 of our personal items, including a watercolor portrait from our wedding day. I'm such a sweet memory!

• Just because I barred one of my lawyers from appearing at a hearing because he was too fat doesn't mean I hate fat people. Hell, for years, I pigged out deep into the night on burgers, popcorn, milk shakes and Cake Masters. Ate fruit salads at the office to fake everyone out. Got shots from a diet doctor to the stars. That's a Cake Master in my jowls now. So I prefer talking to a camera these days than looking in a mirror.

• I knew Mike Wallace and Chris Wallace is no Mike Wallace. Chris wanted to make a big deal out of my four corporate bankruptcies. But I don't get any credit for having only three weddings. That's how my fight with Rosie O'Donnell started years ago. She hit me with both the bankruptcies and the weddings. All because I humiliated a Miss USA who had drug and sex problems, including kissing another contestant. How could she do that without letting me keep my eyes on the prize?

• I love fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals. I love them and they love me. If I am nominated, I will win the fat pig, dog, slob and disgusting animal vote.

Enough about this sexism stuff. America needs a take-charge guy, someone who will lead from on top.

I made a lot of money in Atlantic City and got out long before the total collapse. I can do the same in this campaign. Or maybe in the White House.

So, a newspaper columnist puts together a column with snippets about Trump's life, a few real quotes, and lots of make believe commentary by the Donald and people are already attributing it to Trump as if he really said it.

Seriously, we are dumbest nation in the history of the world.

Bill gets a hummer and the women go wild. Trump, they go after. Screwed up if you ask me.

Trump is the libs wildest dream come true....

his meltdown is coming too soon, though. they are hoping he'll reek damage from within, then implode. problem is, the downward spiral is starting now, and the GOP has a year to fix this.
It's turning out to be another gong show..

Way to go, GOP.

Well kinda. The "columnist" is the author of numerous books, including a dated (1992)book about Trump, the non-politician.
http://www.amazon.com/Trump-Deals-Downfall-Wayne-Barrett/dp/0060167041

While his recent popularity is vexing to the Republican esatablishment, it is a dream come true for Democrats.
Trust me on this, they're saving some of his best quotes for later. His only chance is to get it all vetted now, and there is so much of it, that will be tough.
____

“I have a great relationship with the Blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the Blacks.”

“Laziness is a trait in blacks.”

“Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”

Sounds like a real person saying things guys here on the forum say on a regular basis, instead of some polished politician afraid to speak.

He already showed how he is going to handle these questions. "I don't have time for political correctness." And he punctuated that with explaining most of his comments like this are in jest.

Trump is doing what so, so, so, so many Americans want leaders to do. He's standing up, saying "fugk you and if you don't like it, don't vote for me."

It's so refreshing people cannot, not like him.

it's just as douchy here on the board...
The clown show is blowing up his brand. He's playing the media like a fiddle and people just lapp it up.

More exposure than he ever had with his previous reality show.
I'm okay with that, but he doesn't need a bunch of surprises in the process.

Read what you just wrote then think where the feminist crowd could go with that.
The feminist crowd doesn't matter. They are liberals and vote Democrat.

Agree. Whether or not he'll be able to write laws that work for us Americans, he's showing America what a joke our current political system is.And how FOS congress is. They're all the same the D's and R's. At least right now.

Unfortunately, winning a presidential election IS about it being a popularity contest. That's what an election is. Has been since day one.... Hence "politicians".

The REAL problem is that ANY lie the media might want to print about Trump is.... BELIEVABLE.

THAT'S a real handicap for a politician.

And ONLY a politician has a shot at being elected to ANY national office, especially POTUS.

Do I think Trump doesn't know this?

NO.
I hope so. I can't disagree with anything Trump is saying politically. After all, he is mirroring beliefs that Cruz has been demonstrating for years. What I have a problem forgetting, is that he has self identified as a Democrat until a couple of months ago, and I don't mean just paying them off. Maybe he really has had a real change in his beliefs, and I hope so, but I can't forget him saying "I identify myself as a Democrat", long after Obama had begun destroying the world.

That is important and he said he's going to spend $600 million of his own money to win. That is important too.
Posted By: JoeBob Re: Can this possibly be legit? - 08/09/15
In a world where there are only two parties of note, it is pretty easy with the Democratic party as personified by Obama and crew for someone who is fairly liberal to not be able to identify with them.

Let's face it, these guys are flat out communists. They are not Democrats. Your grandma was a Democrat, these guys are Marxists. Heck most of the stuff on this board that we rail about would have been representative of a fairly mainstream Democrat 40 years ago.

The Obamaites who control the party make Ted Kennedy look like a member of the Birch society.
All the regular folks "marrying" Trump are gonna be surprised when they lift the veil.

Only thing worse than a Northeastern Liberal is a Northeastern Billionaire with no convictions whatsoever.

No argument here. Tell me why Trump changed his mind in the last couple of months, just so I feel more secure about voting for him, which I certainly would do if it comes down to him vs. the Democrat.

I meant it. It takes money to make money, and he ain't afraid to spend it. He's just not known for gambling with his own.

That's not fair. George Soros is a winner.
Posted By: JoeBob Re: Can this possibly be legit? - 08/09/15
And you know what really marks Obama and crew as genuine Marxists as opposed to just really liberal? I mean sure, there have been some Democrats over the years who were really really liberal and who advocated many of the things Obama is doing. But, the difference is, those old Democrats believed in America more than they believed in their ideas. What I mean is that they did not advocate overturning the system, they were going to work within the system and established legality to get them where they wanted to go. If they couldn't get there that way, they weren't going to get there.

Obama and crew don't give a schit about America or our system. They openly hold it in contempt. They will do whatever they need to in order to accomplish their goals and dare someone to stop them. If they are not stopped, they will not let mere trivial concerns like legality, separation of powers, and rule of law stop them. They do what is necessary. THAT is the definition of a MARXIST.

Posted By: JoeBob Re: Can this possibly be legit? - 08/09/15
And the point of what I am saying is that a guy like Trump of his age could have considered himself a Democrat his whole life. When he pictured his idea of an ideal Democrat, he had JFK in mind. Then one day during the Obama Administration he realizes that JFK would be considered a right wing Republican nowadays and he suddenly says to himself, "I'm a Republican."
Sam Rayburn would be a radical right-winger nowadays.
Again, no argument. I just don't see any reason to like Trump, other than he is rich enough to say what everybody else is thinking and, as Travis says, winning.
Posted By: JoeBob Re: Can this possibly be legit? - 08/09/15
There is no reason to like him. But the idea that there is a candidate out there who is enough of "The Honey Badger" to say what he wants and who refuses to do anything but double down on these [bleep] is appealing.

It's like the buddy crime spree movies. It's fun to watch. We root for the so-called "bad guys" even when they do stuff we know is bad, because they are more human than the system and they do things we all wish we could do IF we didn't have too much to lose.

But, deep down, we know that eventually, The Man will bring them down. It is the same with Trump, they'll get his ass eventually by hook or by crook, but it will be fun to watch until they do. And maybe, he'll hurt them too and the next guy will have an easier go of it.
We agree.

That's great. Winning the nomination is how Republicans lose the general election.
George Will - Fox News Sunday RE: Trump

WALLACE: George, your thoughts about Donald Trump, the debate and the shape of the Republican race in the wake of the debate?

WILL: I would begin by disputing the premise of both Chuck and Laura, which is that these are Republican voters. These are not Tea Party voters who are very substantive. I think that people attracted to Donald Trump are marginally connected to politics at all and are brought in to this for the entertainment value. I would like to think that the beginning of the end was the question you asked in the debate when you said what is your evidence for your statements about the complicity of the Mexican government. Donald Trump doesn't do evidence. He says apoplexy is a substitute for argument. So he just went off on another rant. Time will come when politics becomes blocking and tackling. You go to Iowa. You have to organize. You have to sit in a lot of living rooms with a macaroon in one hand and a cup of hot chocolate in the other. Now, picture Donald Trump doing that. I can't. So I think he will seek his own level.

WILL: These are voters that the Republicans want. The Republicans want all voters. And particularly these voters. But to say that he's tapped into something, Henry Wallace tapped into something in the far left of American politics in the late '40s. The John Birch Society tapped into something. George Wallace tapped into something. And it was up to the grown-ups and the labor movement in the 1940s and the grown-ups in the conservative movement in the 1960s to read those elements the riot act and say come back in, but come back in on our terms because we're not going down the road you want to go.

WALLACE: 30 seconds, George Will, who is the front runner?

WILL: There is no front runner. It won't be a Republican race to speak of until this coarse and vulgar man who is at the center of this argument is marginalized. When that happens, we're going to see who the strength is. We're going to see also, Laura, the declining utility of the last political dollar, the last $40 million really don't matter that much.

Still gotta get to point A before you can get to point B.

Doesn't matter though. Republicans are well on their way to self destruction already.

Trumps job is to hang on as long as possible. He will do his assignment into the primary season outlasting the majority of the field of 17(?) destroying any chance of a GOP win and only then will Hillary and Bill allow him to Pull his Palin.
Trumps seems to get along with and like Ted Cruz.

Maybe if he had the best interest of the country in mind, he would step out and back Ted with his money and support?
I believe Trump started out in this process to keep JEB from being crowned with no contest. When it appeared that him just talking wasn't gonna do it, and "Milktoast Walker" became JEB's biggest obstacle, Trump gets in himself.

There's more than one way the Clinton's could figure into this and a man could go crazy trying to figure THAT out.

I think if Trump can de-rail the Bush Express - AND GET THE CREDIT FOR IT - he may very well bow out before all the hard work starts.

In that scenario, Cruz is the likely beneficiary, and if it propels him to the nomination, Trump can take credit for THAT.

I think Trump will set out the General Election, not taking sides.

And I don't think he will run Third Party. He don't want "also ran" as part of his legacy.
I think a very arrogant millionaire (that's a compliment) thought he'd take a stab at becoming the most powerful man in the world by marketing himself to a specific type of American.

And the more success he has at his latest venture, the more he's going to pour into it.
