Have the LP, saw it in a place that bought storage unit contents and then sold them, paid 50 cents.
Thought it might be worth something someday (yeah right) never played it, but it's still here.
Good tune, played by LA's Wrecking Crew. That was Chuck Berghofer's bass line, IIRC.
Once I had a bunch of people at my house. That album was the only one I had. I asked if anyone would like to hear some music, hoping they would choose her. My brother chimes in with,
"What are you talkin' about? You only have one record," so I played it. That was forty-eight years ago.
Remember the song, for sure. Don't recall ever seeing that dance routine, though. Rather badly lip-synched -- if you ever took your eyes off the rest, that is.
Lip-synching? Well, huh.

I kept looking for lips, but never did quite catch a glimpse...

I wasn't a fan. Her "Sugartown" however, I really liked that song...

I remember it well.
I got to thinking today of a lot of things.
A friend who went through the 60's with me, deceased.
contact from a girlfriend the other day from 1967.
vietnam
protests
and a whole new generation that can't begin to understand the times.
I even played country joe and the fish. His vietnam song.
A long time ago, burned in the memories of those that lived through it.
Sunday i have to go to a ceremony at the local v.a. cemetary, somebody I knew for a long long time.
From that generation, navy guy.
My brother in law should be there river boats in the delta.
and some others.
We didn't have a clue as to what was coming in this country.
mostly thinking of those that didn't have a chance for a turkey dinner after about 1968 or so.

that friend of mine, who died in his 40's led mostly a very good life, no smoking, exercised every day, good healthy life, died of cancer.
When we were at a.s.u. we got a couple of cases of beer and headed for california playing this.
That was the night we were in the "long Bar" in that mexican town south of san diego. The night he started cussing the mexicans out cause they short changed him for the booze and the hookers. The night we turned the tables over, dropped the hookers on the floor, and ran like hades for the border. With a pack of mexicans chasing us. Always wondered why i wasn't knifed that night.
So here's to you Doug:
