The US election could get worse. It could be a prelude to a civil war.

How so? Here's a simple scenario.

It's November 8th and the choice is between Trump and Hillary.

Both candidates have negatives approaching 70% (Hillary is currently at 56% and Trump is at 60%). The campaign has been vicious. A rematch of Hitler vs. Stalin in US politics.

For months, there has been violent protest in every US state. Protesters vs police vs. each other. Voters are edgy when they head to the booths on November 4th. Everyone is ready to put this campaign behind them.

However, things are about to change for the worse.

Early in the afternoon (EST) a small group of global guerrillas spring an N-1 trap (N-1 is a last moment action or betrayal) on the US:

•A dozen faux bombs in suspicious packages are placed at heavily (Rep or Dem) polling locations resulting in evacuation and widespread concern.

•Robocalls pour in to police departments and polling places in heavily (Rep or Dem) polling locations with bomb/terrorist threats. Widespread poll closures occur. Calls continue until late.

•Election results are skewed. Electoral college swings to the candidate helped by the threats.

One candidate declares victory. The other cries foul. Protests go national. Violence, looting and active engagement with police.

Calls for calm ignored. Martial law is declared in different areas. Internet is turned off in different areas.

Violence grows. The global economy collapses due to uncertainty over US economy (ill conceived financial derivatives ensure that virulent US contagion spreads to every nook and cranny of the global financial and economic system).

The US, suddenly impoverished, extremely angry, and mortally betrayed stumbles into civil war.

Have fun,

John Robb

PS: The most interesting thing about this scenario is that it can be pulled off with only five people.
You forgot the part where obama refuses to step down after martial law is declared.

Nice fantasy - but Hillary is not Stalin, and Trump is not Hitler....by any stretch. And although a vocal minority on either side would have you believe otherwise, the vast majority know better.
Without very high gas prices and food prices I just don't see it.
You need to buy a better brand of booze..

In all seriousness, if we don't get this country turned around, it will eventually cease to function as a viable nation-state and "Balkanize" itself into nothingness, which will make us easy prey for the Barbarians at the gates...

Some folks have been saying Balkanization is on the horizon for several years. It's coming, and perhaps it needs to.

Chicago sounds like ground zero
And what for, turn us into a bunch of meaningless little nations? I'll pass. Personally I'm keen to a Seven Days In May scenario...

Voting certain people in will not help you. There are many divisions among Americans and price of food plus gas is cheap, therefore, positive change can not take place. Only through untied passionate acts of desperation can things be changed. Remember the events of October 1917?

FOAD. Man, I miss the Hapsburgs...
What book did this come from?

Sounds like it might have been a bad movie with Morgan Freeman in it. grin
Far fetched is putting it mildly..

Easier ways for it to get started.
As America slides down the slope towards Third World status, I see no reason that we shouldn't expect Third World election antics.

I don't know if any of this happens this time, but I expect things to get pretty damned sporty with the BLM types when Trump is the nominee. Does it amp up from there or does it subside? I guess time will tell.

We could give Florida to the cane-cutters, Haitians, and the Nation of Islam

Bingo. Hyperinflation is what will light the fuse. When and if food becomes in short supply, it will no longer be shipped to inner cities. They will become death traps.

That or an EMP event, man-made or natural.

Dunno... that phrase "Australian style gun laws" comes out quite a bit from Hillary's mouth.
Everytime I start to think we're close to civil war, I look around and see a bunch of fat, dumb and happy people. So long as the majority of Americans are just mildly annoyed with politicians and the food and booze is still flowing, no revolution is forthcoming.
Calhoun,
At best you'd get civil disobedience. Most will simply fail to surrender their guns. It will be the extremely rare case where anyone actually fights the system. It's sad, but there it is.

I believe you to be right.

The percentage of "fighters" in the population has dwindled so badly as to be a non-factor.
wow gonehuntin you truly are a dickhead.

The nation didn't fall apart in 1968. Things were MUCH worse then.
It could be a lot simpler than that.

GOP goes with a brokered convention and nominates Romney or similar.

Romney loses the election to Hillary.

FBI arrests Hillary for her crimes as SOS.

There you go. Every Commie in the country would be out in the streets while the bureaucrats choose sides.
Good grief.. whistle
Hitler & Stalin were never matched up in any election.
Your rematch statement is BullShit.
At the rate in which Americans are turning to the Federal government for their needs and wishes, there will be no Civil War...just a few of us old liberty lovers being called dumbasses for not wanting the government to control everything. One needs to look no further than the 'fire to see that Americans have given up on freedom, if they can envision it at all. Free trade, freedom of religion, free choice made America great and is the only thing that could possibly make it "great" again.

It was a good run boys...but there is nowhere left to run to.

If you think things aren't worse than 1968 you are clueless as to whats happening.
1968 was just a bunch of hippies and radicals. Now those radicals are in power and we are 19 trillion in debt.

The wheels are about to fall off.
The middle class is being destroyed.
In 1968 the middle class was thriving.

Also government has grown a huge amount since 1968.
The government is the enemy, always has been always will be.
The constitution's purpose is to limit the size of government.

Also politicians are much more corrupt now than then.
Hell, Nixon resigned after being impeached, Clinton's impeachment enhanced his resume!

LoL!!!! Maybe you should go to the link and read up some of the suggested reading material on the left side of the blog, then read about the author on the right side of the blog.

http://globalguerrillas.typepad.com/globalguerrillas/2016/03/how-the-us-ends-up-in-a-civil-war.html

From the "About":

John's education includes:

•Masters of Public and Private Management, Yale University, New Haven CT (commendation for excellence)

•Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering, The United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs CO (honors program)

Other than the AF Academy, the government spent over $2.5 million training John.

•Undergraduate Pilot Training, The United States Air Force, Reese Air Force Base, Lubbock TX

•SERE school. Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape.

•Squadron Officer's School. Mid-level manager training.

•Advanced transport pilot training.

•Advanced low-level night flight training (night vision goggles).

•Advanced interrogation resistance training.

•Terrorism survival course (including advanced driving techniques).

•Covert and clandestine mission training.

•Free-fall parachute training.

•Advanced training in multiple aircraft.

Here's what I am currently thinking about, in a nutshell:

The Future of War. Warfare is rapidly evolving. Torrential improvements in technology and globalization have combined to make it possible for small groups of violent individuals to go to war against nation-states and win. In fact, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are actually accelerating the process of development. How effective are these new methods of warfare? Here's a narrow example. In the summer of 2007, a "defunct" guerrilla group attacked a critical part of a natural gas pipeline in Mexico. This caused a cascade of failure that shut down the just-in-time manufacturing system in the northern part of the country. Network effects turned a $2,000 attack in $2.5 billion in damages. It was so effective, the group did exactly the same thing a month later. Nobody was caught.

The Future of Peace. Resilient communities. Our tightly interconnected global system is increasingly prone to large shocks from a variety of man-made and natural causes. These shocks can disrupt flows of energy, food, commerce, and communications to produce widespread wealth destruction (at best) and famine/death (at worst). The best way to mitigate these shocks is to build resiliency at the local level so that communities can enjoy the benefits of globalization without being damaged by its excesses. I am exploring what a community needs to do to be resilient.
One thing I'll agree with Lincoln about is "a house decided against itself cannot stand".
Something has got to give, and I think it'll be soon. I've never seen this country so devided as it is now. It was pretty bad in 2008, and though I wanted someone else we got Zero'd. I hoped he would unite the country in spite of my fears.
He strove to do exactly the opposite! He's used race, the economy, foreign policy, religion, and more, to turn us one against another.
He and his "handlers" have orchestrated this devisiiveness in order to weaken us.
I honestly don't know what is gonna happen at this point.
I'm beginning to think a couple million or more dead would be a cheap price to pay to restore our republic. I don't think we can restore it.
Too many "useful idiots" are voting now.

The civil war will begin immediately following the Browns wining the Super Bowl this year.

"I've got some ocean front property in Arizona
If you buy that I'll throw the Golden Gate in for free"
Sounds like it should make the best sellers list. I say finish writing the book.

You need to get out of your moms basement and turn off the internet once I. A while.
Florida will not be given to anyone!
It is too important in elections!

You could give away any number of states that would not mean sh&t, but not Florida.

Sounds like a "Legend in his own mind'

Do you stay up late at night thinking about this stuff or just cut and past from a nut job web site?

The real problems will happen when the GOP refuses to allow Trump to become the candidate this summer, or a 3rd party pops up slashing the Donald's numbers and splitting the conservative/GOP party into 2 limp biscuits of a party. Hillary and the DEMS walk into the WH and 8 years from now the onetime Grand Old Party is asking themselves..." We did this to ourselves?"

Actually, that post was from only one of the jackarses using that log-in. Take a look at the post history and the distinctive, and disparate, syntax made across posts. It's not one person trolling with that account, but several.

Now there's a hell of an endorsement.
Just remember what happened in Ferguson and Baltimore: FedGov sent in their boys to make sure that the rioting continued without an armed intervention to stop it. That came straight from the Oval Office. The game is rigged, and it wouldn't take much to set off a conflagration that turns this nation into something like what is going on in Brazil right now.

Think of the mayhem that will be unleashed by that jackass in the Oval Office if Donald Trump wins? Who will stop Obama at that point???

If come January 20th, Obama attempts to declare himself Caesar and not leave office, The Million Black Gun March will suggest he reconsider.

Based on current ammo availability, if there was a war it would be fought with .22lr.

Stupid thread but some good posts on it.
(excluding of course the eurofagtrash hippie community posting under the name of slobberdick)

If we're going to imagine, imagine this.
Cities full of starving jigaboos mad as hell and amped up only needing food and combat boots and drugs and orders to get busy killing on all the gun owning whitey hicks that have been holding them back and depriving them of their American dream.

They already have their army.
And it's chomping at the bit rearing to go.

Pack that into your pipe and smoke it, you pontificating numbskulls.

ps

When it happens, shoot straight and shoot often and aim for the head.

Now stfu and get back to your reloading bench.

It won't take starving in the streets to start things going bad.

The simple fact is, a Federal government with a $3.8 trillion annual budget is $20 trillion in debt.....with much, much more debt on the way (over 1 hundred trillion).

Working folks are getting tired of non-contributors living so high on the hog, with borrowed money.

Small cuts to the give-aways, in any effort to balance things, will result in 'burning it all down'.

Trump's wall, hindering drug traffic.....would also light the fuse.

Productive citizens won't put up with it. It's getting old.
