Sad. He and Townes are America's true poet laureates. Here's one of my favorites about Guy and his dad.
Godspeed.

One of the radio stations here is playing all Guy Clark
today. R.I.P.
That is a sad one... he has been looking rough...
One of the best of a good bunch.
For some reason, I can't post "Dublin Blues" from youtube.
Ah man, I hate to hear that.
Not a great chart topper, but a legend, none the less.
One of mine, and a lot of musician's, favorites.
I'm 74 as well and I think 74 is just too young to go.
Never heard of him. What did he sing?

My Favorite Picture of You - Homegrown Tomatoes - The Guitar

Steve Earle said he'd stand on Dylan's coffee table in his cowboy boots and tell him that Townes van Zandt was the best songwriter in the whole world...I think I'd stand on Steve's coffee table and correct him...RIP Guy...the best there ever was in my book....
Man, we're losing a lot of the good ones this year! Guy's songs went right to my heart and soul. God give him rest.
Never heard of him. What did he sing?
Kind of a local cult classic running the famous, but less than glizty venues of Texas, Oklahoma, and the surrounding areas. You won't hear him on a Nashville Country Top 40 station for sure.
You might say he was the favorite songwriter of other songwriters........ now that Townes is dead.
Godspeed Guy. Hope you're tippin' one back with Townes and Susanna about now....
One of THE best for sure... Rest in peace Guy.
