It would certainly take the pressure off of B. Hussein Obama, and his cronies that want to import more of those followers of the Religion of Peace.

Kerry: Media Would 'Do Us All a Service' If They Didn't Cover Terrorism as Much

During his first official visit to Bangladesh, Secretary of State John Kerry held a press conference and addressed the threat of terrorism.

Kerry offered a novel way to combat terrorism, suggesting that the media would “do us all a service” if they didn’t cover it “quite as much.”

“No country is immune from terrorism," Kerry said at a press availability in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Monday. "It’s easy to terrorize. Government and law enforcement have to be correct 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But if you decide one day you’re going to be a terrorist and you’re willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people. You can make some noise. Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much. People wouldn’t know what’s going on.”

Yup, just like we'd all live longer if we'd just ignore those pesky cancer symptoms.

Terrorism IS a cancer. It has to be fought the same way: immediately and aggressively. Without mercy.
Fu ck that ketchup licking bastard!
Hang him!
just when ya think they can"t get any dumber they open their mouths and more stupid schitt comes out. ED K
Kerry and Biden are in close competition for "jackass of the year award".
I would enjoy knowing someone very evil terrorizes him and his ilk someday soon.

They've studied together for years.
I don't like Kerry, but he's right on this one, and not just for terrorism, but mass shootings as well. Not calling for a news blackout, but the media in this country bemoans and wails in the aftermath of an attack on a scale the world has seldom seen. In the meantime, more people die in traffic accidents during the first days after such an attack with little notice.

In a fight with another person you don't want to make victim noises as they motivate and encourage your opponent. The same is true for a nation. The media should report the facts, but avoid wall to wall coverage of every detail and every weeping person they can find as doing so actually glorifies the effectiveness of the attackers in the warped minds of those who want to do the same. The result is you get more attacks.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^I Agree 100%^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Sorry, I don't trust kerry in any form or fashion.
What he really means is they'd be doing him, his boss, and the fat bitch a favor by not reminding the rest of us how badly the've fugged the world up.
Kerry is such a Dork! He needs to go back to Easter Island from where he was whelped.
that crowd of status quo demo's are in deep denial. we've seen it over and over.

the world is changing under our very feet, and they say don't worry, we're here to lead you. my arse they are.

the world is in upheavel, and maybe even parts of it are on fire.

it would be so refreshing to have one step up to the podium and take the world's problems by the horns.

we've been led astray long enough. ruining lives might be good for some, but for many it's become totally unacceptable.

kerry and his top mgnt staff right down to the career bureaucrats level need to vacate the building now. we'd all be better served if he'd show true colors.
Every once in a while someone from the Left says what they are really thinking. That's how you know they're idiots. They think they're saying something new, when it's the same-old same-old.

In this case, Kerry let slip that they really don't want a free press. They want a press that gives the news they want given, and hides the news they want hidden.

We don't need to know what everybody involved had for breakfast, but we absolutely need to know who's pulling this sh*t and who they work for.

We also need to know about the innocent victims so we can stay resolved to burn the terrorists in their holes at every opportunity. If we ever become complacent about terror, we're done.

Kill 'em 'til they've had enough, and then kill 'em some more so they don't forget.
Kerry is an idiot.

I think for the most part they've got that already, except for Drudge, Breitbart, and a few others. Very recently several MSM types have slipped up and told the truth and found themselves suddenly unemployed. Where's the outrage from their peers?

That sly old John Kerry, he's just a fan of Ye Olde Soviet Union, where rocket accidents and other disasters never officially happened. Crime/terrorism? Phshh....that's just rumor-mongering, and should eventually be punishable.....

/sarc off
Didn't he recently say that Airconditioning posed a bigger threat to humanity then ISIS?

Sadly there are a few here that believe everything he says .

I agree.

We don't want to be complacent, but we should take such attacks in prospective given the number of people who die on the roads every day, or those killed by gang violence. The main stream media is doing no public service repeating the same news over and over for days and sometimes weeks, even going so far as to rehash it all again on the anniversary of such events.

Terror loses its purpose when it doesn't terrorize the public, and that makes us all safer.

Well, of course its us poor ignorant peasants who need a benevolent state to not only watch over our physical well being, but to insure that we have peace of mind as well. Peace of mind in the same sense that a herd animal led to the slaughter is blissfully ignorant of what is happening.

Maybe you didn't read all of what Kerry said. His last line was. "People wouldn't know what's going on". And that is his purpose: essentially censure. Censure is never right, particularly when people are being murdered, often in mass.

I'll agree that the media does not cover anything like this well, mostly because their journalism and journalistic ethics simply suck. And it always comes around to blaming the gun. But it has to be reported. Just better, but that may well be a bridge too far for the New Pravda.
Kerry would do us all a favor if he arranged to leap off a sky scraper. 5 star idiot and an embarrassment to this country.

Why? Traffic fatalities bear no meaningful comparisons to either gang violence or murders by islamic terrorism. Death is a given. Violent death perpetrated by crime is set apart. Death due to gangs and terrorism are set apart further. The latter two should not be tolerated by civil society, yet due to political malfeasance, we do. Or are compelled to. We need to keep a talley of how much death is inflicted on us by this corruption so people might know what their complacence buys.

Those words right there tell the whole liberal story.

If the press quit reporting on terrorism Zero and his cronies would never be in the news again.

During WW2 the Japanese launched thousands of balloons that carried incendiary bombs designed set the forests of the west coast on fire. Few made it across the Pacific, but they were enough of a threat that the U.S. Government put a news blackout on these incidents least it encourage the Japanese to launch even more balloons.

Not possible to black out the news in such a way today, but there is precedents where the public good is served by limiting the public's right to know. In that same vein, limiting the media's over-the-top-wailing for days would serve the public interest well.

Limiting is a tremendously dangerous precedent that equated to invalidating the first amendment. The one 2A was included to protect.

I think not. Let them wail and silence them in the marketplace not at the cost of lost freedoms.

This ^^^^.

Embedded reporting started during the Vietnam conflict, and has been nothing but a detriment - period.

The 2nd amendment is already limited to a large degree for public safety reasons and is under even greater assault because of the abuse of the 1st amendment, not to inform the public, but to gratify the morbid curiosity of some, feed the wallowing pity of some others, and for ratings. Better to limit the 1st amendment a bit than to see the 2nd amendment infringed in to extinction.

Who died and made you king?

If the public has a "RIGHT-to-know," then they have a right. The limitation of rights is an act of deception and sabotage against another.

I'll take care of me and my own based on the information that I have. You or anyone else limiting that information is an act of sabotage against my survival.
MSM limits information now. Even the fact-checkers need their facts checked.

No one. What I said is a matter of history and fact.

And yet every right has limitations, such as it being illegal to yell "Fire" in a crowed theater unless there is a fire. Why? Because public safety overrules the 1st amendment in some cases. The point I've been making is that the news about a terrorist attack is fine and should continue, but the mainstream media's coverage is more knee knocking and gnashing of teeth than informative and actually plays into the hands of the terrorists. How else do you explain how a loud noise was able to cause mass panic that closed down LA airport for hours this last weekend.

Those who don't understand the difference between useful information and wound licking sabotage their own survival.
Those who have no information cannot make their own decision about its usefulness.

No one in America needs the MSM deciding for them what is good for them to know. No one.
Somebody, please slap that fool.
Lurch is a jhaghoff traitor POS!
Democraps hate having their failures exposed.
Then they could bring more of this bastards to our country

Where have you been? The MSM already decides what information you get, and their obsession with magnifying terror, and thus, the terrorists draws yet more terrorist attacks and copy cat mass shooters.

Liberals have the same solution, blame inanimate objects rather than the people. That's why the MSM uses the term "gun violence" as if the guns went on a rampage by themselves. I expect that people who are duped by such propaganda will soon refer to the 9/11 attack as airline violence.

Phil: Kerry would do us all a service if he would shut the &@#{ up, and stop being a douche."
I think "us all" is the Administration.
They do not want the public aware of how badly they are effing things up.
I do not understand some of the comments. When Obama covered up some of the terrorist acts on military bases you pissed and moaned about it. Now you want the press to do the same thing. The Muzzies have been doing there thing for thousands of years. I don't beleive ABC or CBS is the problem here boys. ED K

Kerry and barack hate to see their muslim friends exposed for what they really are.
Kerry is just admitting they can no longer lie fast enough to keep up, and if the folks really know the truth, the administration might be in jeopardy. And, worst of all, it's personally disconcerting. ;-{>8
