Was at Arlington racetrack today betting on the ponies, last race program of the season. Me and kids do this from time to time.

First time I've seen a horse break a leg though. Seventh race, #7 Wind Warrior, may you rest in peace.

Right front leg must have got broken in turn coming onto the stretch. Field ran past to the finish, we see horse running funny, jockey bails.

#7 kept on trying to run, could see lower leg/hoof flopping around, lots of bright red blood. Track was real slow to respond imo getting a tender to the horse to stop it.

Warrior wanted to make the finish line, and he did, then a tender came to his restrain him. A blind was erected, Wind Warrior was euthanized on the spot.

It was not a pretty sight to see, RIP Wind Warrior.
Damn! You hate see a horse go down like that! You got to put them down, but it still sucks.
I've got a friend that entered a 15k claim on a mare at Hot Springs. Seven others also claimed her, so they had the pill shake after the race and my friend won. He had lost five straight shakes prior to winning this one.

Problem was that she had broken her leg on the first turn and was dead when he "won" her.

Quick way to lose 15 grand at the track. grin
