So they don't have to say he was an illegal?

Jeez doesn't anyone proofread this stuff?
from dust to dust.....it's natural....
I used to live about 2 blocks from that strip center from about 2006 to 2008. That's the grocery store my wife would use. The neighborhood is about 10 minutes from the medical center and has a lot of mid easterners,
I'll bet it was a Swede!!!!!!
Oddly enough we have had this same discussion(s) during the last couple major election cycle (borrows tin foil from resident 24hr kooks), but again we have an uptick/surge whatever of active shooter/mass casualty incidents immediately preceding these pivotal election events.

Amazing though that the Dems come out on top of the Presidential despite the upticks.

Unless Ă˜bama plans on a football spike-able play just prior to the election to boost favorability....
The newsmedia and HPD are reporting that the shooter was a lawyer who was having some sort of trouble with his firm.
OK, I wouldn't have expected that..

No. All the Swedes are over around Elgin, New Sweden, and Lund. About 150 miles west of Houston! laugh
That's not far from Sponxx's house.

Jesus H Christ! Why didn't he just go shoot up his law firm? Nobody would care...

What we know about the suspect, according to HPD:

* He was a resident of a nearby apartment
* He was an attorney who recently had issues with his law firm
* A bomb squad is looking over his Porsche parked outside on Law Street, where the shooting took place
* Other weapons were found in the suspect's vehicle

DeSai's former law partner Kenneth McDaniel says he is in disbelief over what happened. McDaniel said he had not spoken to DeSai since February, when the two decided mutually to dissolve their partnership due to economic factors.

"It's a horrible situation, I don't like hearing anything that's happened... Not only to Nathan, to everybody that is involved and I don't know what to say," said McDaniel.

The wife of a shooting victim spoke with KHOU 11 News and had further insight into the possible mental state of DeSai prior to the shooting.

"What personal problems he has going on in his life, who knows. I do know that there was a confrontation with a roofing company a few weeks ago that he had a problem with and I believe he was waving around his AR, but what set him off at 6:12 this morning, I don't know," said Jennifer Moredo.

Never trust a lawyer.
Now they are saying he was wearing a Nazi uniform with swastikas on it, and his apartment was full of Nazi paraphernalia.

A Nazi sympathizer named DeSai?

Not... what I expected.
He will probably get disbarred over this.
Name sounds a bit Indian or Pakistani. Check his FB page for rants. Nazi stuff could be a diversion.
How bad IS the Obama economy when a lawyer can't make a living? Jeesh!
Apparently either folks or grandparents were from India. Father is Prakesh Desai.

So just some kind of a nazi fetish????
that happened about 1 mile from were we live. My wife shops in that mall frequently, though fortunately not at 7am. Heard on the news as I dropped the kids of at school, which is maybe 15 blocks off that intersection.
Police response was quick apparently, though I am surprised no one ventilated him sooner.
We did get a call at the landline to avoid the area, which is nice to know the system works...
I'm getting a gun for my wife though.
Houston TV guy early this morning said he was an attorney who had some sort of problems at his law firm, making this NOT terrorism, but "the act of a disgruntled employee". Workplace violence? Can't make this [bleep] up!

Mike
Apparently had closed his law firm, or split with his former partner. Per father, he was worried about his practice which wasn't doing well (had a Porsche nonetheless).

I have that on a bumper sticker.
"I got a gun for my wife. Best trade I ever made."
New info out is that he was using a semi-auto thompson... in a Nazi uniform. 2600 rounds on him or in the car.

Officials said the gunman had 2,600 rounds of ammunition either on him or in his car and was carrying a .45 semi-automatic handgun and a .45 semi-automatic Thompson carbine. An "edged weapon still in its sheath" was also recovered from the shooter.

The man's apartment was filled with historic and vintage military items "going back to the Civil War," Houston Police Department Captain Dwayne Ready said during a Monday evening news conference.

Some video of the gun battle exists, Ready said, including footage from body cameras of some of the nine officers who fired upon the gunman. Ready said more than 75 spent shell casings were recovered from the scene, comprising both shots fired by the gunman and police officers.

An ATF official said both guns were purchased legally.

The accused shooter DeSai had previously worked at McDaniel & DeSai LLP, though the practice closed down at some point within the last year, Ken McDaniel told ABC13.
