Cowboys have clinched the #1 seed. The Lions clinch a playoff spot if they win. Should be a good game...Elliot needs 258 yards in the next two games to break the rookie rushing record. I'm not sure they'll play him all night though...
HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!
GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any opinions whether Romo will get some snap time?? I think he should, he hasn't played in over a year.
Who's this fella named Romo?
Lions won't be a cake walk for the Cowboys. Matthew Stafford is one hell of a QB. He's also a home town Dallas boy.
He won the HS Football State Championship for Highland Park, which is Dallas most wealthy school district.
JJ's Grandson just won another HS Football State Championship for Highland Park in AT&T Stadium as their QB.
Any opinions whether Romo will get some snap time?? I think he should, he hasn't played in over a year.
They won't take a chance on Romo getting injured again. JJ is saving Romo so he can choke in the Super Bowl.
If they do, I bet he comes out on fire..BOOK IT!!
No comment on getting injured...
Go Lions!
It would be a great upset for the Lions to beat the Cowboys tonight.
This season has shown some promising strides toward respectability, the Lions new GM, Bob Quin has made a big difference in drafting players after the first round.
Still hope springs eternal, GO LIONS!
The guy on the horn knocked it out of the park.
Nice drive. 7-zip Cowboys
Cowboys draw first blood. They lead 7 to zip. Dak is on fire completing 5 of his first 6 passes, the 6th being a TD toss.
Lions tie it up at 7 all. This one may be a shootout!
Apparently someone forgot to tell the D from both teams there is a game tonight.
Zeke just busted off a 65 yard TD run! Boys lead 14 to 7

No doubt!
Zeke just busted off a 65 yard TD run! Boys lead 14 to 7
He gets another run or two like that and Eric Dickerson can kiss that record goodbye. Works for me, he spouted off a few weeks back that Elliot couldn't do it.

Never liked Dickerson. Marcus Allen was a much better running back.
Hope Zeke breaks his record!
The first defense that shows up will win this game.
Great game so far. Whoever scores last will probably win this one Tied @ 14 all.
Apparently, holding by Det O line is ok on their pass plays.
Yeah, ref's fault.
Apparently, holding by Det O line is ok on their pass plays.
Hmmm, a Cowboys fan complaining about officiating?
Lions 21
Cowboys 14
Another defensive stop, and Detroit has the ball.
Great stop. Stafford sacked at their own 1 yard line.
Cowboys DF finally made a stop.
Has Unlucky Whitehead ever got it out to the 25?
Apparently, holding by Det O line is ok on their pass plays.
Let's call the whaaambulance.
It couldn't be that the linos are carving through the d like a hot knife through butter.
meanwhile the Dallas secondary has been crawling down the backs of Lions receivers...dog whistles
That was a great pick on Decker to free up the stunt.
Detroit has something to play for, games far from over.
Boy Dez delivered on that catch!
Boy Dez delivered on that catch!
Yep, he delivered a face mask foul to the defender.
But again, if it isn't called, it didn't happen.
We got us a shootout and it's not 1/2 time yet.
Boy Dez delivered on that catch!
Yep, he delivered a face mask foul to the defender.
But again, if it isn't called, it didn't happen.
Yep, with the uncalled defender crawling all over his ass and holding his rt arm down he catches it with his left.
He had to catch it with is left. His right one was grabbing the d-backs facemask.
Game tied at 21 all at the start of the 3rd Qtr
I dont know how a team with a rookie QB and RB is 12-2 but D is no S Bowl contender.
the refs just stink, ruining another game
INT by the Cowboys! Way to go DF!
Now there's a good Flag on the Lions
TD Zeke! He didn't jump in the barrel, though.
Cowboys made some adjustments on D.
Cowboys made some adjustments on D.
Yep. About time!
Dak sure ain't playing like no Rookie QB
And...Detroits imploding..
Bullschitt personal foul. Ref's are again [bleep] this game up.
Cowboys score with a little trick play there! 35 to 21 now. Didn't know Dez was a south paw.

I didn't either until that play.
You have to be tough to grow up with a name like Jim Bob Cooter...

Not if your from Tennessee
It's kinda like John Smith there
Fkukin reffs pulled that one left.

TFF!
Hey azzhole, i gotcher number.
Damn Cowboys are running up the score now!
Detroit is a good team. I think the Cowboys are Super Bowl worthy.
Dayom. Cowboys are lookin guid.
Detroit is a good team. I think the Cowboys are Super Bowl worthy.
Yep. It ain't like we are playing the Browns!
I have never seen a punter clock someone like that.
Dallas punter delivered a serious blow on the Lions return man!
I think I heard a collective HELL YEAH from all the kickers league wide.
Cowboys win 42 to 21. Detroit vs the Pack next week should be a good game.
So, if the Skins beat the Giants next week they're in, I think....
Chris Jones, Dallas' punter is a local kid from the other side of the county, the same age as my son. They played against each other in HS. I've known Chris's dad since the 1970's. Chris was a linebacker in HS, and a darn good one. So was his dad. I figured it would only be a matter of time before he got a chance to show he wasn't just a kicker.
Cowboys vs. Patriots or Steelers would be a good SB
You gotta love a game where all 63 points on the scoreboard are from touch downs.
Pretty impressive hit from that punter too LOL.
So, if the Skins beat the Giants next week they're in, I think....
Correct!!
REDSKINS already beat the G-men in NY earlier and maybe just maybe NY will play soft as this game is meaningless to NY and they do get hurt when they play DC. For sure BY is a much better team now but then so are the
REDSKINS!
One other note. Never been a big Jerry Jones fan but I really do appreciate the way he handled this Romo thing. I believe he handed the ball to Dez last night and said only in his JJ voice…"Son…go out there and show America and it's millions of Cowboys fans that you're the man for the job. You do that and you've earned it. And it's yours!"
To leave Dez in the whole game was both smart and strategic.
BTW were I Tony Romo I would take JJ up on his offer and retire as a Cowboy with a bunch more big fat pay checks!!
Congrats to the Cowboys, that was a beat down. They adjusted their defense to that funky 2-2-7? defensive look in the second half.
Detroit's young offensive line and inexperienced offensive coordinator weren't up to the task. Especially changing running backs for the second half. And running on first down.
Disturbing choaching errors.
It would have taken a perfect game from Detroit to win or make it close.
The Lions aren't to that point yet.
I don't think the Lions beat the Fudge Packers next weekend either.
Too many injuries and not enough depth to cover them. Exactly what Bob Quinn said at his introductory presser last year when he was hired.

What a novel concept! You can remain a fan of your team in a loss and still remain classy
Perhaps some of our other posters on the board can take note of your excellent post
In the end Rodger's will take care of the Cowgirl's. Super Bowl,Packer's-Chief's.
That wouldn't surprise me as much, packers beating boys
As Chefs beating pats
Will be interested to see how it plays out though

I took note alright.
If'n the Packers were to make the playoffs and they would somehow meet the Cowboys, I don't think the Packers defense could slow the Cowboys attack.
The mobile QB, excellent RB and standout WR combo have given them fits in the past. And, if that weren't enough, given the above, enter Jason Witten who would likely catch a dozen balls for 250 yards.

I would take that offensive line over any of those big stars!!
. BUT simply amazing what JJ has assembled in totality.
REDSKINS played them well both times this season but this Cowboys team has matured a lot in one season.
Are the Redskins one of the teams with the tie?

Yepper. Against Cincy in the London game.

"I can't dislike the Redskins but I reckon I need to pull for the Giants this weekend."
As a youngster I was a Redskins fan[second to GB]. Living in 'Redskins Land' eventually turned me against them. They're all anybody here talks about. I became a Cowboys fan out of spite.
No top shelf whisky for you now!!

Hey, it's Green Bay. Hated division rivals don't fall into the "Stay classy" category do they?
No top shelf whisky for you now!!
But, but, but I liked Sonny and even Billy!! Riggins and Taylor....
m_stevenson
since you snuck Sean Taylor in there ok.
I have a couple of his jerseys. What a shame…..

Agreed. Elliott would be a star behind about any O-line in the NFL, but they sure make him look good doing it.

I don't hate on the Lions - or even the Bears for that matter. Now, the phuggers to the west of us? That's a different story.

1980's, Cowboys/Redskins with Madden & Summerall calling the 3pm game.......football religion.

The NFL's Glory days without a doubt. Those games were so anticipated, bigger than the Superbowl many times.

My hate for Green Bay comes from Aaron Rodgers.
I read an article about how he never forgets a slight, and never forgives. Goes out his way to slam those who doubt his astounding greatness.
That plus his whiny arrogance (assuming that every time he gets hit that the flags will come flying) I'm not a fan.
He's a great player, and has stabbed the Lions in the heart, numerous times.
May he and his team be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels.
We had to subject ourselves/suffer through the noon-start Packers games so we could watch real football at 3pm.
Those were some epic battles.
Living in N GA I've always pulled for the Falcons. But the reality has always been that they were a mediocre team so the Cowboys were my favorite real team.
But this year the Falcons have been flying under the radar and are underestimated. They have set all sorts of new offensive records this year even though playing the toughest defensive schedule in the NFL. Unless they blow it Sunday they'll get a bye and a home game in 2 weeks. Other than Dallas no one else in the NFC can beat them right now. With their past luck it is possible they may give the game away, but no one else can beat them at home the way they are playing this year.
I look to see a Cowboys vs Falcons NFC championship game. I'm not predicting an Atlanta win. But it could be interesting.

And that's what everyone said in 2010.

I loath Aaron Rodgers for the same reason. Biggest baby in the league.
I wished Suh would have kicked him in the ribs and spit on him Butkus style after that phoney stepping on incident.
Heck for top shelf whiskey I'll sing hail to the Redskins and never even mention Clint Longley
I can't dislike the Redskins but I reckon I need to pull for the Giants this weekend.
My thought exactly. I have disliked the Giants since the early 60s when Tittle, Shoffner, Gifford and Webster were on the offense while Huff, Katcavage, Robustelli and Modzelewski were on the defensive. They were a thorn in the Packer's side then but this weekend I will forget the past, at least temporarily, if they beat the Skins.
If I was a bit more sure The Pack would beat the Lions I wouldn't care. But playing the Lions in their house concerns me a tad.
What, you just waking up from the hangover?
What, you just waking up from the hangover?
What, you just waking up from the hangover?
No. I was just being a smart ass
Holding my breath thinking we just MIGHT make it to our first Super Bowl appearance since 1996 when the Steelers beat us.
But anything can happen during the Playoffs.
So I'm not counting my chicken before they hatch.
Heck for top shelf whiskey I'll sing hail to the Redskins and never even mention Clint Longley
Redskins arent worth top shelf whiskey.
The Lord never asked a man to be a lawyer or a Redskins fan.

Gonna be a lot of tears in little mexico when the Giants beat the boys......again!

They sure seem to have our number.
That they do! And Eli tends to perform in the playoffs.
That said, the loss to the Iggles took some wind outta my sails. We'll see what happens soon enough!
What, you just waking up from the hangover?

Cowboys look to be the team to beat. It's hard to figure how the Giants beat them twice!

Maybe so, but it is very hard to beat the same team 3 times in the same year.

Agreed. But I'm thinking the Packers will knock off the Giants, and eliminate that problem.
I'd rather the Giants knock off the Packers...I think the Cowboys will whip on the Giants this time..
The Lord never asked a man to be a lawyer or a Redskins fan.

First time, the cowboys won, except for the refs saying "The ball wiggled" @ the national sports caster saying Dez's drops are better than most guys receptions".
The next time they lost was the "Las Vegas" money weekend.
There wont be a third time this season. Book it.
As in the days of old, Cowboys didnt need the last game they met.
Oh no! The ref's got something wrong?
Get outa here!
Being a Dallas fan the team I most worry about is the Falcons. They deserve more press than they get and I am sure begrudge the Cowboys limelight. I am not sure I agree they have played the toughest defensive schedule since the Points Against totals in that division are pitiful.
I will be rooting for Washington this weekend as I think they would make for a more fun playoff. For rivalries it is pretty great to see KC and Raiders back in it isn't it?
Getting stoked: "The autumn wind is a pirate......"
So- what are your picks today before the games- for the superbowl matchup?
