He's hit the ground running and the opposition is "reacting." Every punch is getting a reaction, but defense doesn't win the bout.
The key is, they're punching at air. He's moving so fast, that by the time the media/Dems react, he's already moved and is punching again.
This is how boxing matches and wars are won. You don't create a stalemate. You keep moving. Much harder to defend against a moving target, and even harder to mount an offense, when you can't catch them.
