Retirement gift to myslf - 24hourcampfire

I've been looking for a nice Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon O/U. I finally found one in Texas that had some very nice wood. This will be my new dove/quail/clay pigeon killer. This retirement stuff is starting to grow on me. Later folks

Sweet....... I bet that it works as good as it looks. All I got for a retirement gift for myself last year was a CZ -455 Thumbhole Varmint Fluted in 22 LR.... But I've been so good since I retired that I may reconsider and get something else like that for busting a few clays occasionally. Now that I have more time to do that sort of stuff.

It's not A Purdey, but it shore is purdy.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I've got a 12 and a 20 Citori O/U already so I'm trying my first 28 gauge.

I was kind of expecting a firearm from the VarmintWife upon the occassion of my retirement but she surprised me (and the two VarmintSons!) with an absolutely amazing 3 week, 3 island vacation in Hawaii!
I will remember that gift as long as I live and it surpassed my expectations immensely!

I have several 686's and love them dearly. None of them have as a distinctive stock as the the one you purchased. That is a potential heirloom piece.

Nice! I did the same thing with a 410 Lightning. I can't wait to retire a couple more times!
