Well time to fess up, May 23rd I had my gram neg staph infected left ankle amputated, after 35 years of increasing pain I just was not able to walk on it any more. 1 month later it is healing very well and I no longer need pain killers or muscle relaxers. I will be getting my temp leg a week from Monday and start learning to walk again.[Linked Image][Linked Image]

T LEE: I am praying you heal quickly and completely!
And I hope that long term pain will be gone soon.
Stay strong.

Sorry to hear about the leg, but I'm happy to see that you haven't lost that great sense of humor that we all appreciate so much!

Not the best, what needs doing when things like this happen, is to be the best man with one leg you can be.
I'm not wanting to sound "smart", my father lost his left eye about the time I was born, he learned to do well whit one eye.

May God bless you, and give a fast comeback.

TLee - truly sorry that I never knew you were dealing with that difficult injury and deep pain for such a very long time. It is good to know that the decision was good and the results so satisfying. Not a person here doubts that you will get into good locomotion quickly. Must say that I admire your stoicism over this long period - many of us probably would have been complainers.

T Lee,...I worked with a guy who had a bad lower leg. He was in constant pain and walked with a noticeable limp. He finally had it taken off and replaced with a prosthetic when he was in his late 50's.

The new prosthetic legs are pretty amazing. After a couple of months you wouldn't know he had it. He could walk much better with it than he could his old damaged leg.

I doubt we're on the same trajectory as I'm very near seventy three now and doubt I've thirty years left. (actually, hope not). Take Care!
