I'm not a golfer but my wife is, we went to a little hippie coffee shop here in Lander and saw a notice on their bulletin board. Seems the local chapter of the RMEF is hosting a golf tournament this weekend, $100.00 to enter. Low Gross team (whatever that is) gets 4 new Ruger .30-06 rifles. Low Net team gets 2 Bushmaster M4 carbines and 2 Sig Saur .40 caliber semiauto pistols. Can you imagine something like this happening in more enlightened places like California, New Jersey, New York, etc.?.

Neither can I. laugh
Funny the hippie coffee shop would allow such violence to be advertised in their shop.
Seems like a good place to take my 65 handicap.

Well, it's like a hippie coffee shop and you can frequently finding such folks there sipping their chai tea or whatever. Actually, it is owned and operated by the local 4-year Catholic college, which features a great outdoor curriculum and sells t-shirts proudly announcing they are the only college in the US where the students cant own cell phones but can own guns. grin
Speaking of Wyoming, I heard there was a big winter kill in Eastern Wyoming. Any truth to this?

I've known a few cowboys who can be best described as hippies. Long dirty hair, straggly beard, clothes that haven't been washed since last years branding, etc. Some even smoke weed.
Yep! Walked into the cowboy bar on the square in Jackson to roust some clients, and there's an m4 of some sort in a glass case in the middle of the room (there's a stuffed bear in the case too). M4 is being raffled. Gotta love it.

I read that in western WY the G&F collared 70 mule deer fawns last year to check mortality and none made it thru the winter.
I live in NE wyoming and the deer and antelope have survived the winter splendidly.
The Lander area and most of western Wyoming had incredible amounts of snow accumulation in the mountains this last winter
