Season 6 was released on Netflix this morning.
This is the final, final season? How is it?
I am enjoying it. It is following along the same lines as the previous seasons.
Wife sure likes that show.
I hate to mention season 6 to her though. Between book keeping, quilting and Longmire there aint much time for the ole Jim.
Were hooked thanks for the heads up!
I'm on the second episode. They are off to a good start. You do have to do some suspending of reality on the first show.
As I was going to fly to Zimbabwe a month or so ago so I dropped by my MD for a half dozen Ambien pills so that I was ready for buffalo when I arrived. I was flying Emirates and they had season six available. I watched the entire season, never took a pill and was miserably dead azz tired when I arrived. The show was great.

Damn it, nothing will get done this weekend.
Thx for the reminder. I saw it the release date was today but had forgotten.
Jim , your wife a longarm quilter by any chance. My wife is. She has a quilt loaded and working on our taxes. I'LL be hunting and watching Lomgmire for sure.

Whaaaa???? Thought they ended it after Season 5? Nothing in any news I've seen about it. No wonder it showed as NEW EPISODES but I didn't believe it. And "The Punisher" came out today on Netflix. Going to be a good weekend.
The network renewed Longmire for a
sixth and final season of ten episodes, which was released on November 17, 2017. During the course of the series, 63 episodes of Longmire been released over six seasons.
I watched 3 of the new episodes last night. Pretty good. Hate that it's the last season.
Can't wait for the next season of "The Ranch" to be available.
Have watched two discs of season six.
Darn good show!
The new dark brown western hat I had custom made, is similar to Longmmire's hat.
Sure will be disappointed if this is the last season.
My Wife really likes this show also.
Virgil B.
It's getting darker by the episode, but I still like the show.
On our last road trip, wife and I listened to two Longmire audio books. We liked them a lot.
Watched the first 3 episodes. Still bummed out that it has been cancelled.
I would love to see a few more seasons. It is one of the few shows I will watch on television.
AFAIK - 10 episodes this release - the end!
"The Warden" got into it - then we found out much was filmed here. Now she's an addict
, and has seen every episode - in order.
She's waiting to watch the rest during her upcoming chemo episodes. Told me she'd have to go back a couple of episodes to get "caught up" before going to the latest season.
Poor Walt and his hatred of nighthorse is going to be his downfall.
I just finished it not going to ruin it for folks who haven’t finished it..
Really disappointed! Found out that I need a new rifle.... a .375H&H, won’t even give complete penetration on a man!

Season two, show one, An Unquiet Mind, was filmed where I elk hunt. One of the eating establishments shown is a place we've eaten at many times. Wife and I also stayed a week in one of the cabins shown on that episode.
Wife and I absolutely love this series, as we see so many spots we recognize from time to time. Great actors, well written storylines...sure are gonna miss it. Wonder if they'll continue to have Longmire reunions in Wyoming each year? Would love to attend one.
The ending was excellent,
I had a few problems with the inaccuracy of any firearms and ballistics mentioned in the earlier episodes. Such as, "The only way to get a 45-70 is to acquire an antique from the Custer's era." And "A 45 caliber handgun will not exit a human skull."
But, all in all, we have enjoyed the series emensely. Watching season six, episode two right now.
One of the things I like about Longmire are the homes...they have some real beautiful homes in that show. In reality I'm thinking most of them are lodges, filmed as homes.
I always think of a joke Dennis Miller told.
"I did a show at an Indian Casino once...didn't see many Indians there. After the show there was a knock at the door of my hotel room, their was a gumba standing the there, "Chief Jimmy D'Matto requests your company for dinner".

No most of em, if not all, are homes....really expensive homes. They filmed all around the area where we elk hunt. Some serious $ up that way.
Just finished. I'm incredibly sad the series is over. When you get to be my age, 61, it's hard to find good stuff to watch.
Greg
I watched a little bit when it first came across my screen. Then I learned a 45/70 was a " sniper" rifle and , and you could not purchase a new one?????
Then the goofy S H I T could not keep his truck on the road.
Cannot waste time on that crap.

In the right hands, it was a “sniper” rifle in the 1800’s. Can’t buy a new one....now that’s a bit off! Unless they meant you can’t buy a “new” one from the 1800’s.

I binged on year six, even with the inconsistencies in it.
It was suppose to be N.W. wyoming put in reality filmed in new mexico.
I read a lot of the longmire novels, you can spot a number of boopers in there on firearms.
The guy that wrote the novels i think is from New York, but is not really firearms proficient.
REally good ending tho, it took long enough.

More like North Central-Durant is loosely based on Buffalo, Wyoming. A great town to visit, by the way. Lots of references to real towns as well like Ten Sleep and Sheridan.
Craig Johnson is originally from West Virginia but lives in Ucross. I agree, quite a few firearms bloopers in both the books and the show.
Still enjoy both. I'm still working through season five right now on Netflix.
5 episodes into season six it looks like the producers are trying to rush through production. I can't get past the idea that a city mayor can order an elected county sheriff around and try to fire him. I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way.

It doesn't ...
Dumb ass producers don't know the difference between an elected Sheriff, and an appointed Police Cheif.
We have enjoyed the series, but I have to suspend my belief that the 4th Amendment should be applicable in his county.
