We had an afternoon t-storm roll through. We haven't had rain for more than 6 weeks and it's been in the 90's every day this month. The storm started at least 10 new fires. The BLM crews have been scrambling The last report I heard was that nearly 7000 acres are burning now. There's no wind here at the moment but it could kick up a bit later tonight.
The fires are scattered from the NV border north nearly 100 miles.

Combo that with a fire and we might gain some ground.
Only one fire in Montana right now, the Zulu up in the Kootenai north of Libby. I went to Helena today and really noticed the difference in the smoke between near the border and further south. Also "toured" the Rice Ridge (Seeley Lake last year) perimeter on the south side, looking at the burn and the salvage efforts. Lots of good wood being left to rot.
Only 37000 acre's, burning on the Klamath River drainage, in Northern California and Sourthern Oregon!
Daughter called in one between Medford and Klamath Falls yesterday. Lightening then smoke I heard they got it at 40 acre's. I'm not looking forward to a basin full of smoke all summer!
FatCity have you been to Jocko's in Nipomo?

Jocko was my Grandfather. My Uncles added a BBQ pit in 1957 and built the new Joint in 1962.
I loved that place. It was recommended by a friend and I enjoyed everything I ate there. It is one place I want to go back to if I am out in Cali again.
