I caught this cat on a trail camera. Anybody know the make or model of this. I've never seen a domestic have such a solid muscular looking body.

You guys don't know your cats , it's a Siamese Pitt
Manx.

American shorthair. I have an 18y/o tom who looked just like 15 years ago - albeit with a tail . He weighed 22lbs at the time and he wasn’t fat.

looks like a 45 grain bullet catcher to me

Domesticated breeding, perhaps feral.
Posted By: FatCity67 Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
Melanistic Bobcat maybe.

He packing a fish?
Posted By: JimH Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
Even bobcats have 5-6" tails.
Posted By: Dryfly24 Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
I'm not a cat guy but the only one I know of with no tail is the Manx.
Posted By: Ghostinthemachine Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
Impressive animal.

I'd take him out with a .17HMR if he was causing trouble...but most likely he's not being a problem.

probably a Manx. They are a heavy built cat and are one of the best breeds for killing rats and mice. I've had Manx cats off and on for 30 years they are my favorite breed.

I can't figure out what he is packing. He is walking in the direction of a cabin that is about 1\4 mile from this location. It's forest service behind him. I get a lot of game pics here including bobcats, bears and an occasional lion but thats pretty rare.

Looks like your basic well fed feral cat, who was almost cost by a coyote.
Posted By: Ghostinthemachine Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
I don't know, that cat looks unusually muscular.

Some sort of mutant roided out feline.

Bad ass cat. Appears to be carrying a Whitetail bucks sack and nuts in his mouth. shocked grin GW
Posted By: JeffG818 Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
I'll go with the Manx. But it needs to stay home or get shot.
Posted By: Just a Hunter Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
I would say a Manx
Posted By: SockPuppet Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
Did you name it Arnold?

Looks like it's packin' a small rabbit.

Well placed 17HMR would get it done.

Ah, the illusive and mythical (some say) black panther. Get your children in the house.

Yep. For size reference, that is a 25 lb. sack of cat food in his mouth. The tail was swept around to his other side when the camera shutter fired.

Black panther. For sure.

Sure looks like it to me. I'd like to see a closeup of it's head.

That is a good and healthy Manx. We had a female that was something else. Mean as hell to other animals and loved my wife and daughter. She would tolerate me when the family was out of town. Really a good pet for about 13 years.

Cat is a stud that’s for sure.
Posted By: 1minute Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
Nothing there for definitive scale, so I too would venture Manx
Posted By: jk16 Re: Trail camera cat - 07/18/18
I do believe that's the last Black bear Big Stick missed ...

Phuuker is STILL a dink..

And so is that Bear..

They come in "rumpies" and "stumpies". The rumpies will no tail at all, and the stumpies will have a very short stump of a tail. The bobtail feature is a genetic defect causing a shortening of the number of spinal vertabrae. Inbreeding will result in kittens born paralyzed due to too much shortening of the spine.

No such thing as an outdoor cat not being a problem. They are flat out horrible in every way.

I agree, that is a muscular cat. Too bad there isn't an object close to him to give the photo some scale. How tall was the grass at the time the photo was taken? It looks belly high to the cat. If he's walking through big blue stem, HOLY CATS!!!
